tvss key fob - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #92328 18 posts Started by enderswift
Hey 6gc,

My buddy has had his 94 Celica for two years and only just discovered a factory keyless entry system the other day. It doesn't respond to the remote from my car and a little research shows that he has Toyota's tvss system. Can anyone with a working remote for their '94 post up the fcc code listed on the back of it? I'm trying to find one that will work for him, but none of the eBay listings mention his ecu number.
Is it the factory alarm? VIP RS3000 system?

Mine had an alarm in it too, way back when. Never had the remote for it so I just tore it out during one of my swaps.
I believe it was the same one that richee said.
from what I understand it predates rs3000. It's apparently called TVSS. I think I'll post up a photo of the ECU

So does anyone have this alarm ecu under their seat and have working key fob? If yes what is the FCC code printed on the back of the remote???

Side question, does anyone know where I can get a replacement case for Sara's one button factory remote? Dealer only?

I bought my remote from the dealer for ~$80, my unit looks much like that in my 95. How did you program the remote?

havent tried programming yet since i'm still looking to buy a remote. I'd hate to spend ~$50 just to find out its the wrong one. Could you post a picture of your remote? specifically the back side?
That looks like the box I had in my '96 Celica with keyless entry, but I may be mistaken. This is going to be a stupid question, but Luke, your car has keyless entry, right? It's definitely a different ECU from yours?

yup, 100% different. I have the dealer option RS3000 system which is just a plain black box. Someone on here must have a keyfob for their '94. All I need is a picture of the back of the remote so I can see which FCC code is associated with TVSS, and thus search for compatible remotes

Possibility. I know the RS3000 remote is on the left but I've never seen the other one.

Thanks DAn, looks like that might work, it shows compatibility with a lot of 90-94 cars. I'll tell him to give it a shot.
Just saw this and sorry for the late reply. I just read the back of my remote and it reads FCC ID: BAB237131-056. If you are second guessing it at all, talk to the local dealer and they can find the remote you need via VIN.
Btw, this remote is for my 95 GT.
Here are the photos.
