WTB 294 cams ....PLEASE CLOSE - 6G Celicas Forums

hey guys,
want to get a little more kick from the 5s without going turbo. anyone got used or new 5sfe 294 cams laying around they want to get rid of?

haha. i know you could ship your cams to web and get it but i just wanna see if anyones got some first.lol if not i'll prob end up shipping mine

Who will do it because I've been wanting to get mine done as well, I might just buy a new replacement one for my 5s and send it in.

about like 15-20hp more but i believe (please correct me if i'm wrong) it changes the 5s into a interferience engine with the cams grinded like that. i still think its worth it biggrin.gif

webcams does it. they sell or regrind

no way do they turn them into a interference engine.


they are hardweld cams, which is just material added then reshaped.

colt cams are regrind which is taking off material to the desired shape then compensating for that loss of material with thicker shims

ok. just wasnt sure cause on the mr2.com forums, they were talking about it that it would. thanks for the clear up Tigawoods biggrin.gif

and good, we got a couple of ppl interested. it'd probably be easier if we just have them make it and we'll just buy it new.

+1, theyre not new. They need your cams to be shipped to them. Then they work on it approximately 1-3 weeks depending how busy they are, then another week to get back to you. Id expect it to be 3-5 weeks.

The 5GC GT had slightly more aggressive cams and made 5 more horsepower, so going with an as aggressive set of cams that the springs will allow should be fairly beneficial.

I contacted WebCams already and the price id def fair. I'm just waiting on the admin to give me the green light to post a thread. Been waiting for 2 days....

20whp on an untuned ecu. If tuned properly probably another 5-10whp.

No I don't actually. I don't know how to do it myself either but I'm having a cousin help me along with the repair manual.

Go to the engine/maintenance thread. There's the tech manuals. I recently commented it with a repair manual. It shows how to remove the camshaft and the valva clearance.

i was reading a bit earlier in this thread, that u might need some motor work done? can someone explain that to me and how indepth does this motor need to go?
