If its just a regrind then wouldn't it not have as much lift as the hardweld/regrind? All you can really get from regrind is more duration. Thats my guess at least.
Welding to regrind allows them to do a larger cam (more aggressive) overall. Their regrind-only procedure cuts into the stock base circle, but they make up for the difference with the spacer shims. They are less aggressive but also less expensive to make.
You could talk to someone @ Colt Cams and ask to see what it would cost for a custom grind similar to the Web Cams and compare prices.
$490 is a pretty good price for Web Cams, though, but you might find them cheaper.
