HEy guys i wanna lower my car prolly an inch and a half-2 inches with a coilover kit. Does anyone here have the Tein kit? I know Tein is a pretty good company but their coilovers were like $1350 for our celica! Whats the best combo of ride comfort, performance, and value?

if you just want something comfortable, tien is a little overkill unless you are actually racing or autocrossing. id suggest getting a set of koni shocks and Ground control coilovers, or just getting shocks/struts and either Tien S-tech springs (1.75" drop), or Eibach Sportline springs (1.5" drop), itll save you money and give you a good ride.

you can't lower your car 2 1/2 inchs and have a comfortable ride. thats the bottom line. I have Ground Controls and Koni's and it is very stiff even on the softest setting. I suspect Teins would be better, but like K2 said its not really worth it unless your serious about road racing or auto-x.

The ride in my celica sucks....i feel every little crack in the road. I want comfort more than sport, but i like to be able to adjust the height(with coilovers) and want it to look noticeably lower than stock, what to do?

How low will the sportline springs make the car with koni shocks?
sportlines drop the car on average 1.5" after they break in.

So the koni shocks are called "Yellow Shock Absorbers"? I just wanna knw so i know what to tell them to order at the shop tommorow. Also, with Koni shocks and eibach sportlines will the ride DEFINITELY improve significantly over stock as far as feeling the divets, cracks,bumps , etc in the road?

sounds like you don't really need Teins. your best option for ride height adjustability is Ground Controls. but if you don't realy need the adjustability get springs, not coilovers. if you are interested in getting Ground Controls I have some for sale. The have less than 3000 miles on them and I will let them go for $250. They go for $430 new.

Well I have the koni/sportline setup. Im very happy with the look, the ride, the handleing, and just about every aspect with it. Im not very serious about auto-xing yet. But if I do get into it I will go with a more agressive set up. But the ride on my setup is great, I could soften them alittle but I kinda like the fact that I can feel more of the road.

I was ruling out the struts being shot since he said he only had 36k on the car, mine has 197k and my struts are just starting to get bad. Not only that, bad struts would make the ride softer and very bouncy, not letting you feel every crack(or pebble..).
unless they seize or lose lubrication, which can make a very bumpy ride. True though, I didn't take into consideration the 36k miles...
