Dang huge spacers say bye bye to your wheel bearings!

Did you extend your fender in with some Bondo so you could use that little hole to mound the front spat to your fender.

Beams is a good engine. You'll want the limited slip with it for sure. And if your crazy about suspension swap over the super strut.

he will be fine with those spacers.

all those big fancy drift cars that the pro's are driving have like 3" spacers without any issues.

From memory and not looking at the car, I think I just used one exsisting hole along with double sided tape for the front spat haha.
And the spacers looking at them aren't too big a due to others I know having used the same (JoshuaM and Rentaspace) they should work fine smile.gif
And an engine swap is definitely a thought that is on my mind, just which way to go is the question, I'm definitely leaning towards beams cause it'd go with the FWD well and since my cars handling now is gonna be much more superior to its current engine (5sfe) although I think the 5sfe is more fun than it is given credit for, great torque smile.gif

Very true, and based on the others I mentioned having the same spacers I should be fine smile.gif plus it makes the car look a lot sportier in my opinion tongue.gif

Yesterday I drove my car up the hill to the local mechanics to get my coils, sway bar, spacers and underbody brace and end links (front and rear) all installed (since my parents wouldnt let me do it myself due to lack of tools etc). And so it turns out it was a little tricker than I would have thought, especially for the bracing and sway bar.

For the Whiteline rear swaybar exhaust and fuel tank had to be slightly moved for the sway bar to fit through. And for the Cusco 4 point underbody bracing the whole plastic cover underneath the car had to be removed (the brace is now the lowest point of the car by a long shot!)

Anyhow here are some pictures from today smile.gif

When I first saw her, when going to pick her up this morning:

Filling her up after driving round the block:

A few of photos taken round the corner:

And a picture of the underbody brace and how low it is tongue.gif:

Also when I was on my way home today from the grandparents place I was behind this ST185, only the second one i've ever seen driving around smile.gif

Okay so here we go,
About 3 weeks ago now I was involved in an almost head on car crash (I was at blame for turning on a green light but no arrow). The car looked like this at the time:

while the Holden Rodeo that hit me, had only a broken headlight and fender damage (very slight). Once this crash had occurred i thought it was all over for my celica, she was not in good shape at all and i was understandably devastated.
However later that night my Dad got a call from a friend of my Grandfather's who had done my previous repair (earlier on in the thread) and had said he could repair it, and that is exactly what he did after I had purchased a nose cut (including bonnet and fenders) for $500 off of a white 1998 donor car:

However the body still needed a lot of work and was needing to be straightened up etc. Also the paint was good to just buff and polish without much respray needed, except of course for the really average rising sun attempt tongue.gif
A week after the car was towed to his place this was the result:

Looking a lot better! and at this point i was very relieved in knowing that I got to keep my car! The saviors of the crash were,
1) That the wheel wasn't hit therefore suspension and all was fine.
2) the TRD bracing saved the engine from and damage. and
3) was the fact i had a bolt missing off the bonnet due to the end of it snapping off inside while i attempted to install hood struts (which i can now attempt again tongue.gif) The reason this help was it gave same room for the bonnet to bend up and therefore didn't crack the windscreen.

Anyhow, fast forwarding to today, I got the car back and am extremely happy with the end result (I ended up having to buy new projectors and crystal indicators, 1 fog light, and the left front splitter just needs a respray and thus is why it is currently not on the car) So here is the car as of today:

I decided to ask if i could grab the rear bezel off the donor car, and i ended up getting it for free and painting it black smile.gif
All in all, Michael who helped so much to restore this car is really the best at what he does!

Car is looking HAWT, glad to see she's back on the road. Now get that wheel alignment done! tongue.gif

As for the new direction with the black.... once you start you should do it right!

That is with the centre painted black with JDM tails that have been 'de-yolked' (orange bits taken out of indicators and replaced with LED) and been painted / tinted around the edges only to tie in with the middle.

Just a little update,
Not too much has been happening with my celica lately, a few things to mention though are my Custom Air Intake (CAI) with a K&N Pod, it sounds like a beast smile.gif also since the TRD front strut brace pretty well saved my car in the accident, I decided it deserved a respray smile.gif So with help from Tigawoods on giving me the colour of his, I had resprayed it in VHS Cast Iron, and I did the same with my steering wheel! (Check my profile to see the pictures)

Other than all that, I have just ordered some Vincent doggy door cards with blue stitching and also have some carbon fibre vinyl to wrap my centre console smile.gif

Im also on the look out for leather seats (Currently pending), windows need tinting and also need an alarm system. So I few things to still happen, and I will keep you all updated smile.gif The main goal for me currently is to make the 6GC.net 2016 Calendar!

Just a small update smile.gif

so today with a couple of friends I went for a small drive out to the closest Autobarn, sadly that is 45 minutes, good roads though! And when we were there I found a SAAS shift knob that is weighted (375 grams) and wasn't too tall, only 70mm, and so I bought it! after looking around for a while.
And also today I thought id give vinyl wrapping a small go, so I wrapped my coin holder lip in carbon fibre vinyl smile.gif

Really love this car, it's given me some ideas for mine and I just wish I had the money to do it!

I've gotten some SS-III Side skirts and rear caps, but still looking for a front lip. I was a bit worried about what they would look like without the fronts but after seeing yours without them on it doesn't look too strange actually, definitely better with them though.

Stock exhaust wasn't so bad, but hearing the exhaust note is definitely better tongue.gif The muffler is a JDM Prof. Sheepdog muffler, and I got it off another 6GC.net member. Apparently the muffler was actually made specifically for the ST202 Celica smile.gif

Hey all,

It's been quite a while! Been missing this group so I thought id update you all on what's been happening smile.gif

About a year ago now I test drove a friend's 1999 Honda Integra DC2 Type R and at that moment I decided to sell my 6GC due to there being no BEAMS or 3SGTE engines available (had been that way for some time) and go on the hunt for a Honda Integra DC2 Type R.
After seeing a few I became abit disappointed due to the engine issues that were reoccurring and the struggle to find a stock standard one for a decent price, I even had fellow 6GC member, JoshuaM, check out a Milano Red DC2R in Queensland, sadly it was sold before I could make any sort of arrangements.
After a while I found a Phoenix Yellow DC2R with a JDM front end and Engine conversion, I had all the money ready, however when I went to pick it up I bought a mechanic friend with me and turned out that the engine wasn't very healthy so I gave it a miss.
That weekend a very clean Honda Integra DC5 Type R in Arctic Blue Pearl popped up, so I went to look at it the next day, and the next thing, I had a new car.

2002 Honda Integra DC5 Type R:

Fast-forward 9 months and it had come time to sell this beautiful DC5R, since it was really a car setup for track or weekend driving, dailying it in Sydney traffic just wasn't any fun and since I don't actually own a house and have no room for 2 cars, selling it was the best option. The first guy who came to check the car out was a great guy who I could see would treat the car well, he is the one that bought it from me (He even showed up in his friend's Honda NSX NA1).

So what was next in store!
The search for a reliable new daily had begun!
The first car I thought of (since I wanted to stick to a sports car) was the Toyota GT86, so I decided to go and test drive one.
When I got to the local dealer they had a black manual GTS (Premium Spec for the Australian market) in stock and they let me go on a test drive just by myself.
All in all, I was very impressed with the GT86, I understand how people can feel it as being underpowered on the normal streets (good in traffic though), but get it on a backroad and its perfect, the balance and handling is like nothing I've experienced before an that's stock vs. my Celica and Integra on coilovers.

So my decision was made! I ended up ordering the newer and yet to be released model, being the new facelift 2017 Toyota 86 GTS in pearl white.
Here she is:

To conclude this post,
at the present time I am very happy with my purchase of the 2017 Toyota 86, loving everything about it. I feel it does have a similar feel to the Celica before it, after all it is the 2-door coupe that came after the Celica and that's the reason I chose 86 over BRZ, because the Toyota 86 has a lot more 2-door car heritage in its brands history compared to the BRZ and Subaru.
Hope all you guys are well, I'm continuing to love the builds of all your 6GC's. One day down the line ill get a Celica again, probably a ST185 tongue.gif
