Auto Up Window Mod - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #93735 7 posts Started by sandusky1977
I'm assuming, but haven't checked yet, I believe the controller for our 6g celica power windows is the same as the MR2 of the same period, and the other day I was tipped off to this post,. http://91mr2.com/mods/guide/diy-window-auto-up-mod/ where they cover adding a diode to the window switch control to add auto-up just like the auto-down.

I'm going to pop out my window controls later today and check, but figured I would see if anyone has done this mod.

I've been wanting to for quite some time. I found a relay that would work for $40 but I haven't but the bullet yet. Keep us updated for sure. thumbsup.gif

If it's that simple, looks like I know what I'm doing this week.

No its not.

My one I just replaced with a window controller from Japan that had it built in. I wanted to change the passenger side to auto up/down too but I pulled it apart and the circuit board was tiny and very complex; not using individual passive components. I don't think I took photos, but my dad is an electrical engineer and I am studying it, and we both looked at it and decided it wasn't practically doable. If you can get the right aftermarket relay that could work though.
