PRIME Performance Gen4 3SGTE AWD Camry Alltrac swap - 6G Celicas Forums

Hey guys, I figured that I would document this swap here to give some other people some inspiration or direction if they want a 3SGTE swap like this done. We at Prime are no stranger to the 3SGTE or Toyota's however this is our first camry that we've swapped. We've swapped Gen4 3SGTE's into many different platforms.

I'm starting out with 1991 Camry Alltrac automatic with a blown motor. First order of business was to find someone parting out a manual camry for the pedal set and shifter mechanism. Then we purchased a ST205 AWD transmission and cables here on 6gc.









Cut the hole for the clutch master cylinder:




Starting to remove the original motor:




Engine is out:



Assembling the AWD transmission and motor the easy way:







We love Gen4 3SGTES at Prime:



Starting assembly of the motor:


Cut the hole for the shifter cables and installed the correct grommet with the ST205 cables.





and in the engine bay:



installed plate, made a rubber grommet and siliconed the edges (not shown)

I bet that's a HUGE upgrade for the Camry! In for the videos when it's finished.

I think it'd be great if you kept the exterior and exhaust low profile and then go shock the Hell out of some people with it. laugh.gif

looks awesome! is the 3sgte a direct swap for the all-trac camry 5spd? i believe i've seen one on alltrac.net for sale a while back, can't really remember kindasad.gif

So awesome. I've always wanted a Camry sleeper like this. Can't wait to see it finished.

Is that an A2A intercooler?
Wont that heat soak from not having proper ventilation?

Definitely a crazy sleeper though!

How are you guys getting airflow to that side mount intercooler ?
