Topic #95184 13 posts Started by Arturio55
My speed sensor went bad in my 95 gt and im having trouble finding one. Are there any compatible sensors from other cars we could use?

QUOTE (Azncelica @ Mar 4, 2012 - 11:43 PM)I started with what I know to do, I swap engine into my car, I knew it was too much work to make it a AWD. I kept it FWD. Went to take a crack at doing the wiring conversion. Than, I realize, shoot, this is out of my league.

RockAuto has one on wholesale for $44, but there's only 5 left so might should hurry. It's under the Electrical category.

Im not looking for a cheap POS off brand. By cheap i mean low price, oem part. I want to know if other cars have compatible ones so i can find someone parting out a car or hit a junk yard. 6th gen celicas are unicorns where i live.

It's Standard Motor Products, never had any issues with them or any of their other brands' products.

The 5S Camry/Solara, 2WD RAV4, and MR2 have the same sensor.

Rock auto should be just fine.
Just buy a new one, it'll last longer than a used one
Yup it'll probably come out to $50 or so shipped, and you can use the 5% discount to take a little off. You'll get a warranty and you won't have to spend the fuel and time going to a junkyard hoping you can find one, as even though the Camry/Solara is common enough, one with the 5-speed isn't.

If you search for STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS SC171 you'll come up with listings that have all the vehicles it fits. Looks like there are a lot so you might get lucky at the junkyard.

Thank you. Other people have trouble answering questions on here. you ask if the sky is blue and they tell you what clouds are made up of.

I did already order that unknown quality rock auto sensor for $50 tho kindasad.gif would rather have bought a used toyota one but hey guess ill find out how good this wholesale stuff is.
Still gonna try to see which other transmissions use this speed sensor. almost doesn't make sense business-wise for toyota to make a unique one for each different car

a lot of the stuff I get on rockauto is pretty good if you don't buy the cheapest one listed. Standard Motor is supposed to be good stuff.
