My reverse lights haven't been working since i got the car. Already replaced bulbs, no luck. I have an extra s54 that i can take a switch out of, just need to know what size socket i have to buy

Or a tool set and see which one fits
My best guess would be that you need a deep 17mm socket.
Most things are 10, 12, 14, or 17mm
No its at least 22mm. maybe bigger.
my biggest sockets wont fit (19mm and 15/16)

Could be 22mm, as that was the size for the fill plug if I recall correctly.
2001 Miata LS 5-speed
the drain plug on my s54 is a 15/16", which is 24 mm. I went to Sears just to find a 6 point box end to be sure I don't round off my new drain and fill plugs
http://extension.missouri.edu/webster/wrench-chart.aspxanything bigger is usually the 31mm(or is it 32?) like is used for the spark plug tubes, oil cooler, and axle hub me thinks.
Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.
Okay, ive taken off both the fill and drain plug on my transmission. Not the same size as reverse switch.
I have all socket sizes from 3mm up til 19mm and 15/16. NONE of them fit.
i also have a 30mm axle nut socket and its too big.
so its gotta be between 20 and 29mm.
