I dunno, if the BBC is smart they'll just axe the producer and get another one. It's not like there isn't someone that'd love the opportunity to produce the show and work with the Top Gear Trio. I got it, just get Edd China to be the producer and the show would flourish.

This is my assumption as well. Attract a lot of attention, get people outraged, then air the last three episodes of this season with record ratings.

That was kind of my thought as well, and given past stints it honestly wouldn't surprise me. I really don't think the BBC would be so stupid as to cancel what's probably their most popular show.

I'm afraid it's the truth. BBC is station owned by state. Public TV. Not commercial subject. They no need to care about ratings. They burned money to take footage for another three shows and they don't care. So don't count on common sense in terms of BBC.

They still make money from sponsors/commercials and selling programming, so it's a consideration despite being publicly funded.

They have already stopped showing it on the BBC, this sundays Top Gear was cancelled, as have the rest of the shows in the series.......we wont ever see who will win out of the McLaren, Porsche or Le Ferrari.

Although Top Gear may live on, I am not sure Chris Evans is the right choice, he does a great breakfast radio show, and is a true petrolhead organising one of the biggest car shows in the UK.........I doubt he would pair well with Hammond and May...that's if they stick around, I suspect they will follow Clarkson to whatever he does next.

Well the BBC came out today on how they officially won't be renewing his contract. Oh well. Apparently other networks are already trying to reach out to him. I look forward to seeing High Gear on whichever channel wants to sign them.
