I have been looking for a replacement transmission. I noticed on cars that are listed as compatible that the mounts are in different locations and seem to be bolted differently. Have not removed one to check and see exactly how it is done as it would be hours at a junk yard. On the ones I am speaking of, the transmission mount is on the sub-frame which goes all the way across to the front. If they can be removed and I use mine, it would make finding one a ton easier.

Are the transmissions the same with just different mounts that can be swapped?

same trans probably came on Camry with 5S-FE. but they will not be the same mounts for a celica. you need celica auto mounts only.

Thanks for the info. That means I'm limited to Celica for donor.

On our celicas, for example if you are swapping from auto to manual, i remember only the manual mount you needed and you can still use all the auto mounts (pass, rear, front)

Of course though the manual mounts appear and is stronger in the rubber design due to vibrations it has to handle.
