Check the heater control valve to ensure its operating as expected. Since you are post-swap, the cooling system may not have been bled properly. I would rebleed your cooling system.

The valve is controlled properly by the knob, and i have now flushed and changed the coolant. Still warm air only.
It can be really hard to fully purge air from the heater core. put the front of the car up and allow it to idle with the radiator cap off for about 15 minutes, fill the radiator and bottle, put the cap back on, then hold the engine at about 2000-2500 RPM for about 5-10 minutes. You may hear some gurgling and suddenly have nice hot air from the vents. Let the car cool over night and top the coolant bottle.
