Timing Belt - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #96060 6 posts Started by polaraden
My bar buddies tell me my timing belt is "off by a notch"
Can anyone tell me how to check/correct?
I didn't think I moved anything when I put the new belt on.
set the crank at 0. then look at the cam gear. there is a notch that the gear should be lined up to.

Thank you,
I will try that.
How do I add a photo to show you the cam shaft?

I'd like to add a photo but don't see a command.
you have to go thru a third party, Photobucket.com is your best bet. add your photo there then copy image code and paste it in a reply or edit
Dude just follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlRkcJuo6EY and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZDTxruWT3M

It will show exactly what Smaay is talking about

It will show you exactly how to remove and reinstall the timing.
