Exhaust Fitment Issues - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #96328 10 posts Started by BonzaiCelica
Well no one's bitten at my fujitsubo exhaust(10days now) so I might consider keeping it if I don't sell by end of January. I actually like the sound it produces as I had a friend drive it while I was outside

But how do I prevent the muffler from banging on the crash bar? I can bairly just fit my pinky finger between muffler and crash bar.

Sure I can put some sort of padding, but that will eventually wear down. And removing crash bar will make it unsafe if someone hits me. Should I just chop away at crash bar and then spray primer to prevent rust?

Try...
Trim the bar a bit with a cut off wheel on a grinder
or
Adjust the hangers
or
Bigger (longer) rubber hangers.

I would trim the bar a bit.

Would some polyurethane hangers work?

I have very close clearances with the over axle 3in, only solution that helped was poly hangers.

I would cut the bar a bit, and use poly hangers for the rear muffler section. My clearance over the sub frame was very similar to that and poly hangers took care of the issue.

Oh yea well like your exhaust is to restrictive for your V6. I mean like geez have some respect for that engine, upgrade to 70mm piping and sell me your exhaust.

You know so you can get ready for your supercharger ahead of time n stuff redface.gif
