so i have a 2t engine, with a glasspack. too loud. Plus i am planning on going to the ncm track in ky on may 14.
i need to tone it down, as the track has a 103 db restriction.
need something cheap and small, to reduce the noise.. without compromise of flow
any ideas... a moroso spiral pack looks promising, but im afraid its still too loud,

Magnaflow has some race mufflers that would probably work. They're usually Amazon Prime eligible too.

It'd be totally fine to put after the glasspack, if you have the room the cheapest option would be to run this along with the glasspack there:

If the packing has blown out or if it's just a cherry bomb style (perf pipe and no packing) then it's going to be like no muffler at all.

Yup, el cheapo glasspacks blow out and I wondered if that was the case. I bet the MagnaPack I posted further up for under $40 shipped will get it fairly quiet.

So after lots of looking for myself I've come across something that looks promising, company called Jones Exhaust that's been around since the late 60's and makes stuff over here but is priced super competitively. They make a variety of mufflers, just about anything one could want. Here's one that'd work for you perhaps, the design is similar to traditional MagnaFlow and the DynoMax Ultra Flo but is a fraction of the cost:

If you put a turn down at the end of the pipe so it blasts the tarmac that will lower the DB reading by A LOT since the ground muffles and disperses a bunch of sound for you. I guess hit up a junk yard and steal a resonator off something else with the same size piping and clamp it in, turn the tip the ground, and give it a go. Or as as the Aussies say 'suck it and see'.

eBay listing says it'll be here on or before May 5th for me, being you're even closer to Virginia I'd imagine you'd have the same if not earlier date. That or yeah, should be able to find something that'd work at a local pick n' pull. I know a lot of factory truck mufflers are straight through but are surrounded by so much packing it makes them dead quiet.

You can't tell me the track miles away is anywhere as bad as half the people that drive in and next to those neighbourhoods on a daily basis... Probably a bunch of people mad at life because they're stuck driving a Corolla until they die. All of a sudden I remember why I don't like neighborhoods.
