Nope, only Hondas and Acuras and Domestics. I've asked around.
your best bet is to find any shop, and I mean any shop, to do just the mechanical part. And have Mike at topshelf do your wiring.
Whos that? Where can I get a hold of him? Not doing it anytime soon by any means but doing research now.
mike is qatar11 dont bug him till your actually doing your swap though.
he charges $400 for the wiring (if you get a st185) and says he takes about a week.

5k? Cant you get a full 3sgte swap kit for like 2 grand off ebay?
wut makes the cost up to 5k?
wut makes the cost up to 5k?
2k is what you end up spending before you put the engine in your car. Miccilanious (sp) stuff (ie belts, hoses, and other problems your find along the way)brings that cost higher. While most the monet for like sway goes to labor. Unless you do this yourself look at spending a lot more than 2k. I think that there are a few people that have done the swap on here that have spend in excess of 5k on the project. The most expensive I have seen anywhere is around 10k for the swap. This can take a lot of time and money.

Well i did my harness with mike.....dont think 2wice have mike do it its worth all the time and money.....need i say more..get mike. I payed $1400 for the motor...$300 on extra parts...and did it all myself making my swap $1700-$1850 TOTAL

another thing....yes get a clip or have fun waiting for parts like me.....like 2 weeks to 4 weeks trying to gather them up. Mike will do your harness and itll be like gold so hit him up at Qartar11, a clip is good mounts are good, and all the 5 sensor on the clip are a go. If you get just the motor then have fun looking for these sensors
Ok I dont know what you guys are talking about now. The only thing that I figured I needed were motor mounts, some kinda wiring harness, and belts and exhaust. Please someone correct me or tell me all that I need. $1,400 for a 3sgte sounds very good compared to $2,200 for a 170hp B18C1.
Yea so if u r mechanically inclined in any way, and can follow directions i suggest u do the swap urself, thats wut id do if had 2000 to buy the motor
You can very well do this mod for about 2000-2500 dollars, but its gonna take work, lots of reasearch and u have to do it urself
i just saw an entire swap kit on ebay today for 2200
included transmission ecu and everything
u get that and the wiring kit from mike, and any clamps/hoses u might need and then ur set
id also try selling ur engine if u could to get money for the swap
i would i have a 5sfe with 60,000 miles on it, if u wanted to give it away pretty cheap that alone could pay the cost of mikes wiring harness
just be intelligent about it and dont let a shop sway u to let them do it

Gotcha. Is ebay safe to get parts from? I've never ordered from anyone except the actual company or summit and nopi.
Ok i know a guy who can do the 3SGTE swap for you he owns a toyota specialist shop in lewisville. He usualy works on MR2's but he knows all he needs too to work on supras and celicas. I was recently talking to him about a swap my self. He can do all the wiring and mechanics, he is very highly decorated from the people i talked to about him. A kid i talked too has a MR2 and he was gonna swap, the guy was gonna swap him for 3,000 engine and all plus a tune up for the higher miles on the engine, well it may have been 3,500 or 4,000 but nothing over 4 i beleive. But his price may be different for you.
Anyways he is very respectable. If you want more info just let me know.

To swap an engine yourself you need somewhere to do it. You guys make it sound like its an air intake or something... you and your friend cant lift in the engine and hand tighten the bolts! you need alot of tools for this. I dont know about you guys but I dont have an engine dolley sitting in my garage. And also doing it yourself from an ST requires welding I believe, and I dont have welding suplies in my garage either. An engine is not a "bolt on" and should only be attempted if you have know how. And buying all the tools and renting an engine dolley would be pretty expensive, Im guessing not to far from the labor cost of a shop doing it.
True. Unless your lucky enought to have some serious car freaks living next door, or a mechanic, you most liekly gonna have to take it to a shop. But hey maybe you can cut down some pay by doing most of the work. Not likely i guess but maybe.
first off, its not like you need a ton of tools for much of anything, you can get a 100 tool kit from sears, an thta will cover almost anything on a cra, besides getting a engine lift, an that cost's about 50 bucks to rent. And where did welding come in this??, i would like to know what you have to weld, were talking about droping a 3s-gte not a v8.. sorry but im an ass right now....
Ok heres the breakdown. I want a 3sgte swap in my 94 ST coupe. I want everything to work, a/c cruise and all power options. I want a reliable yet fast setup.
As long as all mentioned above are met, upgrades and aftermarket performance I can live with later. I just need something faster than a 115hp car.
Parts: This is all that I know I need- 3sgte motor and tranny, dunno what you call it. The wire harness you guys mentioned. All hoses belts mounting hardware necessary for the swap. I do not know what this clip thing is. What is it?
Ive heard there different models as far as what year the motor was made. Does it matter? Also an LSD would be nice. What price for those that have done it, am I looking at? I will do labor myself but I have no workplace as I live at an apartment. I got some tools and basic mechanical skills. Tune up, changing springs, exhaust, sound system install. The only reason I can't try and do it myself is lack of proper storage and working environment.
I would like to help out in the install as to better understand the process and to learn the do's and don'ts. But unless I can leave my project somewhere and come by every weekend to work on it, it would make more sense for me to find a shop or someone to do it.
Ultimate goal- To have the 3sgte swap done succesfully without sacrificing any of my stock amenities. Power wise 250 hp would be great. Hope this explains my situation a bit. I am very serious but just haven't ordered or done anything this extreme or expensive. I've done some N/A upgrades but thats with the motor still on the car. Thanx for everybody's help.

A clip is buying a front of a car cut in half has all the nessary parts needed no searching
the new engine mounts just bolt in? or do u weld them.
bolt in all he need is the tranny mounts.........
just think of it this way. You somewhat have to turn your ST into a GT, then drop everything in.
Look, if you have any questions about anything on doing the swap on a ST, let me know. It's not as hard as a lot of people make it sound like. The only thing i recomend is to have every single part you need ready. If you have everything ready, i can guarantee you that it can be done in 2 weekends.

wahoo, i'm lucky enough to have my VERY OWN shop! just...no money =\
Oh yea, and i have an ST so it's that much more diff.

and btw, what do you mean by have EVERY part ready? Got a list i can look at so i know EVERY part?
Thats a retorical question btw....Knowing my luck i'll have to put new wiring to the tail lights or some ****ed up sh*t like that lmao. Something odd always comes up when i work on my car. You gotta change out the fuel system too dont you?
Oh yea and convert it to AWD and add teleport mode too!

You guys are over complicating the situation... its a standard Engine R&R if you have a GT, its very basic, change the motor.... if you have an ST, gather the parts you need to make your car a GT, then get the R&R done after you have all the parts and they can just swap the lot of it when they put it all back in.... very simple, its not like your shoe horning a 5.0 in a miata..
and of course have the wiring done by a professional >
