You cam get you an interfire amp for about $200 don't go with a cheap amp it will just break on you also you can get couple a 10 inch sony subs they are not the best in the world bu the sound is good. ($50 a peice). I have a interfire amp its really good and I have seen the those sub and for the money they are really good.

Hope this helps

peace,

william
sup guys....Wild1Sushi....i have a competitin setup just subs and amp that i am selling its 2 12" JL w3's with a memphis audio 1100watt competition amp (class d, never overheats) i'm selling it really cheap and i made a cutom setup for the box and amp so they don't slide around....email me if you want pricing guitarplaya7@yahoo.com
ok, first off, dont get sony, ... they suck! stright up, if you h=want somtihng good, get rockford, best sound an pretty cheap, also look at getting us amp's great sound and very cheap, also i would say you dont need much more then one 10" I would say like 200-400 watts, i know my sub's are way to powerfull an i never even turn them up maybe a 1/5th the way.
my friend had 6 rockfords he2's already and keeps blowing the cilicone surround...he' givin up on the subs
I have a different opinion about rockfords they are probably the most overrated sub on the market and the quality just doesn't match the price(wat over priced.) Now, the reason I suggested the sonys is because i have heard them and the sound quality exellent and to top it off they CHEAP. I use to think that sony suck major a$$ but i changed my mind when i got a chance to listen to them. (Aluminum hexagonal cones) True enough they can't handel the power of the rockfords but then again rockfords sound like S***. If you want to get a really really good subs get infinity perfect 10.1s. For the money they are the best.

Personally, for a really good value for a high quality sub, I suggest an Adire Shiva, or maybe a Tempest. Also, any of Elemental Designs' subs are great values for the money.

But really, we can't provide you with good suggestions unless you give us some requirements of what you're looking for in a sub. What type of music do you listen to? Are you into SQ, SPL, or both? How much space do you want to use for your system? How much money do you have to spend? >smile.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
My personal preference----X-PlóD
People don't seem to like them very much but I love em', when I bought my sterio this is what I thought-

Sony Head Unit-Sony Speakers=Bad
Pioneer Headunit-sony speakers=GOOD >tongue.gif>

Right now I have Lightning Audio Strike Subs installed, with a Jensen amp, and for the money i paid I couldn't be happier. Though I just bought some new audio toys today. The Sony P5 subs are a real monster if you got em' set up right.
i dont care what anybody says i hate audiobahn is all show no go , sure some get loud , but the sq is poor ,i dont see why they need all that chrome , but thats my opinon , as for the choice have no favorites , but i have good luck with jl wo's 12's . alpine type r's one is more the you'll evr need , and even soem cheap concept cse's i have had 6 of those in my blazer and they sounded pretty good for only paying 300 bucks for the set , and for the amp doesn't matter really just dont go cheap , a good amp can make the difference between a good sounding system and a pile of distorted junk

I know we all have preferences and sometime we defend them like mad dogs.

You guys have alot of mixed feelings here, I was an autosound installer for many years, worked with Brooklyn's Best Audio when I lived in NY, and helped Mike Mineo with his Camaro... Rockford Fosgates are still making quality products, odds are (and this goes for every speaker) if your blowing the foam surround, or pushing the voice coil past the limit it is your fault not the speakers, people believe you can throw a subwoofer in a box and go... if the box is smaller than spec calls for you CANNOT throw the rated rms at it, if the box is too big you would need double the rms to keep it sounding nicely which results in overthrow of the coil...

Think about it... if you build the box right and to specs almost any speaker on the market would thump and sound somewhat decent.

Anyways here is my suggestions....

AMPS: Precision Power, MMATS, Rockford Fosgate, Pheonix Gold

SUBS: JL Audio, Kicker (only reason I say this is because I had kicker comps in one of my cars once and the sub took a beaten and kept going), Audiobahn

COMPONENTS: MB QUART or FOCAL

and please for the love of god pick up a good crossover, Audio Control for example.

For a low cost decent sounding system..

Go with a JL W0 12inch in a sealed box (cost ya about 200 bucks around here)

And for amps, it depends.. are you going to run your speakers off the headunit, or do you want to replace those factory stock ones?

If your staying with head unit powered, get a Sony Explod Mono Block Amp. it puts out about 200 watts, and you can get one for about 120.00 online.

If you want to power all 4 speakers, get a decent 200 dollar 4 channel amp, from a good shop. Remember the critical thing with car stereos.

it's not the amount of watts. its the quality of watts..

A Quality JL Amp (or other high end company) Will put out about 50-75 watts per channel.. This is MUCH better then some no name POS amp saying it puts out 200 Watts per channel. Seriously. the 50-75 watts will be louder then the 200 watter..

Just my 2 cents >smile.gif>
"Their old stuff is reminiscent of audiobahn today, meaning it was quite decent."

LOL comparing old RF to audiobahn? Your kidding right? Old RF was nothing like audiobahn in its day. They actually has quality products. New RF and Audiobahn are on the same level now.....

So you recommend sony for "Quality" watts? Please don't spread things that are false. Keep it to yourself.

Its all about sounding them out in person, and knowing what the purpose of the system is....i.e, really low lows, punch, nice sound or keeping the neighbors up, etc. This would be MY reccomandation which fulfills just about any purpose you could think of.

For a good balance of SQ, SPL's, and value, i would have to reccomend getting 2 10" Polk MOMO subwoofers and a Phoenix Gold amp that can deliver at least 300 watts RMS x 2....or, get a 4 channel amp and bridge those together to power the 2 subs. Also a power cap on the amp will help keep sound output consistent.

I have a 10" Polk MOMO in my car right now, and the balance of punch and sound quality is awesome. It handles power effortlessly, and sounds much larger than any other 10" sub ive ever heard and it has great flex and durability when its turned up high. Not to mention it looks great too, and its only like 120 a speaker. Cant go wrong there. >wink.gif>

3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting.
What about Power Acoustiks? They have some FUBR 12's hooked up at the local Best Buy. They sound really good when pushed with the new RF 500/1 or 2 cant remember for sure. Its a new RF amp. Sounds really good though.
FUBR's have horrible SQ....they get loud in the right enclosure with proper power tho.......
you guys know anything about crossfire?.....i got 2 12's db model and a directed audio amp(made by viper)....sound decent enuff
I didn't even know viper made cau audio equipment until about a month ago and I found a few people that have their stuff and I am impressed.
