That’s how the trim is supposed to be installed. It acts as a gutter over the door and minimizes water falling into the car.

how'd you take it off? I tried prying mines but didn't want to risk bending or breaking the trim kindasad.gif

Take the weather stripper off
And you’ll see a few + screws, you can undo those and the trim will come off smile.gif
