Putting this in the correct thread, but do any of you guys have a belt tensioner for a 1ZZ?

2000 GT-S 6 SPD...SOLD!
I do not, I think I have a spare 2ZZ part somewhere but it's not the same as 1ZZ. What's failed on yours? I was able to replace JUST the pulley which was a little noisy, the cylinder on mine as OK but they're common to leak and cause belt bouncing and screaming.

I was certain it was the front or rear motor mount causing lots of noise while in gear, but now I'm thinking it's the tensioner. I think ther cylinder has failed, but I'll confirm tomorrow. I'll take the belt off and start it up and find out if the noise is gone. smile.gif

Rumbling at idle, you can just pull on the tensioner to increase or decrease the tension to confirm the noise stops, a little easier than pulling the belt.

That's ok, chew won't have his car done anyway. wink.gif
I see your Celica ONCE and now you're not even coming. Pfft what the heck!? I might as well just show up in my Mazda or her Escape! At least the Escape has a turbo *not the good turbo engine*

I could possibly be acquiring a 2005 Honda Odyssey from my wife's employers - for free. smile.gif

Some general maintenance items needed, but it runs and drives perfectly fine. If only the wifey would be cool with me cleaning it up, selling it, and then picking up a Celica... I do miss owning one.

Good vans, except for the 5spd automatic trans is utter rubbish and the dark colored paints shed clear coat.

Yeah, I'd just keep it as a third car (beater). It will nice for hauling things too. My dad said those transmissions are the first to go on them. It has some MAJOR creaking going on up front, thinking it's the outer tie rod. It has some rust and some paint peeling areas, but looks decent.

Yea, the trans goes bad and then the replacement goes bad. I think they may finally have it sorted out, but at one point the fix Honda implemented was to change how much the computer bumped line pressure on shifts and how it changed shift timing in relation to shifting times to engage the gears faster to reduce clutch wear once they began to shift a little slow. Well the side effect was that they were slamming stuff together and instead of the insufficient clutches taking the wear and the trans slipping because of that, the hard parts now took the wear and broke, which meant a trans rebuild was much more expensive.

That's too bad... frown.gif

I can't stand the five speed trans in my ES330. I get to deal with the throttle/trans issue that results in jerking and shifting issues while at low speeds/stops.

Anyone want a 97 Paseo for $200? 118K miles, runs, drives, has engine light, needs rear brakes and gas tank, would need to be towed or trailered away due the rear brakes.

In for dogs
Trying to make dogs happen. smile.gif It means taking two cars though, but she has a GPS so it should be fine.
