I'm looking at getting a set of 16x7 wheels with 35mm offset, combined with 205/50r16 tires, and was wondering if that would fit without any modifications or problems.

I have 7th gen wheels and they're around those specs with the same tire size. They fit perfectly with 20mm spacers and my drop. no issues, no rubs.

Hi cheela - Also just replaced my Gen 6 wheels with some off of a Gen 7. I don't know what to do about the space saver in the boot though, did you get a new space saver to match the new wheels??
