when i'm driving like from 0- 80kmh it's fine and everything steering is still stiff. but when i'm like going pass 90km/h + the steering wheel starts to lighten up and wobble. like krazy. before i thought it was the problem of my mags due to warpage and unbalanced. so then i bought a new set of rims that were much lighter and are properlly balanced. it is a lil bet better now, but has anyone have this problem before. i would really like to fix this to enhance the handling of my celica.

I have a simaler problem, around when im goin like 70mph an up, the stering wheel starts shaking real bad htne stops then shaks then stops.... i have no clue, but i migh be having it checked out this weekend, if i find out, il post it on here
My dash seems to shake when im going up hill on the way to cali. doing +80mph. Also shakes when my A/C is on.
I have a similar problem, and I find that for some reason, if I change the oil, and run premium, it stops. this usually happens if I've been driving really hard, I'm thinking its a pretty serious problem, I plan to have it looked at.

I've had this problem and it also happens worse when hard braking from those higher speeds. I think mine's because of a flat tire I had once and I drove on it for about 4 miles not knowing I had a flat...it might have warped the rim. My car also sat on a flat tire when it got slashed one night and that might cause some harm if it's sitting on a flat tire for 12 hours. No clue, but I don't care...my Rex is now for high speeds and Celica just looks pretty and sounds neat.

Take your car and have your wheels balanced, probably costs 20 bucks and will solve the problem almost definately, well first thing inspect your tires for faults before anything, new tires make a world of difference, if none of that works have your alignment checked, or better yet have it all checked at once.

it's also worth checking that your brake discs aren't warped.. I had this on my SR.. I had the brakes skimmed (after having all the wheels balanced and the caar tracked) and the problem is gone.

If its your rotors your only going to get pulsating when breaking, most noticable when coming to a stop.
unblanced wheels, worped brake disk, worn bushings, lose lug nuts, blow shocks or springs, frame damage those are all things that could cause your steering wheel to shake at high speed... as for the wheel getting loser thats normal with cars that have power steering. thats to you control easier at high speed.

if you have aftermarket rims, then your problem is probably caused by the fact that your new rims are not hub centric. i had the same thing happend to me and the problem went away after i bought a set of hub centirc rings for my wheels. they cost about 40$ and i got them from www.justforwheels.com

yeah my tires are brand new. before i had old rims and tires and thought that they might be warped so i got brand spanking new rims and tires. the problem is a little bit better. this time i'm going to get my rotors remachined and then a four wheel alightment hoping this fixes the problem. it gets scary going fast liek that man.
Well, I retract my statements. The shaking got worse after that, but no where NEAR as bad as a perfectly fine Civic EX I drove the next day. Shaking so bad at 85 I didn't dare take it any faster.

I'm going nuts trying to find the source of my shake. So far I've replaced both axle's, rotors and pads, wheel bearings, tires and had the car aligned. The wheel balance was checked at two diff. shops. Each time I've changed something it has gotten better but still won't go away. I usually feel it from 60-70 then again around 85. Anyone have any ideas?
I get it from 65-78mph, but nowhere after that. Wheel vibrates a little bit at idle too though. Weird thing is, after I've been driving for a while on it, it'll even out a bit and won't do it as much. Who knows, maybe our cars just aren't meant to go in that range of speed lol..

I'm pretty sure I found my problem. I put both front wheels in back and the vibe is all but gone at any speed. I've got the hub rings and I always use a torque wrench so that rules out a couple of things. This weekend I'm gonna try another place for balancing and see what happens. The saga continues. >

I've just got a wheel alignment and the problem still persists. I just remachiend both my front rotors today and going to remachine the backs later this week. I'm going to try to balace all four wheels at my school and see how it is. My teacher suspects that the bushings for our suspension maybe warn out.
