in my auto st, the redline is ~ 5900rpm. when the engine temp is normal, it shifts at about 5700rpm at wot. is this normal?

autozone wanted $65 for a drop in kn air filter. is there anywhere else that sells them for cheaper? or are there any other performance air filters that are cheaper and do just as good?
