Shid not to be a jackass or anything but you have no idea what you are talking about. First of all PSI has nothing to do with the limits or life of a turbo...its the pressure ratio that determines its limits. You shouldn't automatically assume what people say is true.

Yeah i forgot to say great job dave. 13 seconds is easily in reach..and that is f'ing flying!!! an 11 second car is such a fast 'n furious comment... having an 11 second car is almost guarenteeing that you have no streetablility...its all track. What fun is driving a car that sucks on the street?

I was at the track with a couple friends running their cars. I have a friend with a 95? Mustang GT. Full exhaust, GT40 intake manifold. Now this is a V8 and he ran a 14.36.

I have another friend with a 93 Civic hatch Si with exhaust and intake and he ran a 15.8.

I have a short video of a 70's something or other I forget running an 8.9.

If you read that post that Super posted you'll understand that psi is one of the factors in determining pressure ratio... yes by turning up boost you are increasing pressure ratio... but it isn't the only factor, there are ways to offset that high amount of boost.

lol, how come my car ran 14.01 and it didnt bring up such a long post.... anyway, i did the same , 14.4 (my friend ran the 14.0) ... it was my first time at the track too... but with 3rd gen lsd tranny i launched it (spun)... because i cant drive and i have ****ty tires...

i put on 15s , they were 205s vs my 225s but they were drag radials from my friends neon and smoked every car that was out there... srt-4 with few mods, sentra SER on spray (that beat the srt-4) , Pontiac GTP on SPRAY (that beat an STI), didnt get to race the STI , but went up against a turbo cavalier and killed it... and this is all in a row... like i lined up ... raced a car, beat it, and i came back to starting line to find another car, and another, plus like 2 re-runs... all of them got smoked with decent tires launching at 11psi switching to 15 PSI at 3rd gear. all UNTUNED.

anyway, as a race car... the 3sgte powered celica dominates FWD cars 1/4 mile and highway wise with the right tires and driver. i think the 3sgte has the biggest stock turbo of any 4 cyl engine.

as for turning up the boost.... just get water injection and/or race gas... if you can get your car tuned, that would be awesome... just go street racing for a while, learn to drive... and then head over to the track ... and when you blow your turbo, upgrade it to a 60-1 or any of the nice mr2 trubo kits out there, they have allot for 2nd gens.

for the launch, learn to work the gas pedal... with decent tires, do a low spin.... maintain the low spin threw out first and 2nd gear, and then when you hit 3rd floor it and turn up the boost if you have that option.

The SR20DET I believe has a bigger turbo than both the 2nd & 3rd Gen 3s's.

The 60mm trim would be pointless I wouldnt go above 52 on teh ct26.

When I ran at the track, boost levels from the ct26 would drop for 15 psi to 13psi. However, you have to understand that having a big FMIC adds a pressure drop. Therefore the turbo is working harder and actually pushing 17psi and it's falling off like crazy. My stock ct26 could consistently hold 13 psi.
I just switched to a t3/t4 setup. The 3sgte has much potential. If you are looking for 11's go buy an inline 6 and dump another 5k into it. For the potential, price, and being FWD you can't beat the 3sgte swap. You'll have close to the same 1/4 mile time on a FWD car for less than half the price.

yea, an old civic with the h22 swap would Probably be in the same area speed wise, but I see swaped hondas Everywhere. Celicas are different.

DG:: 13-16psi on a 3sgte w/ gt tranny? how much hp can a s54 tranny hold exactly.. couple of shops such as Elprototype told me that s54 is only good for about 200whp.. i mean.. how did you pull it off, running 15 psi and all?

i did not do anything special to the car to run it as it is right now? i just dont beat on my car every day and run it into the ground like some other people might after getting excited about all the new power.
like i said..... i eased off the line and then got on it at the track.
i just try to take care of my car as best i can i guess?
and i dont know how but my boost will hold fine at 17psi so???? it was a cold night the time i did it but i dont plan on running 17 psi again any time soon .

People would be talking differently if it was their swapped car they had to worry about the tranny in. Congrats man thats an awesome time. People talk big when its not their money... upgrade the tranny, the turbo, **** why not just drop in a 6 cyl. P.s. Slow... is determined by the user. Personaly, I find 14's very fast. Actualy... all you 11 second cars are slow, because there are 9 second cars, so enjoy your slow cars >>

for all those thinking 14s is slow you guys are pretty dumb. i'm doing a 5s turbo and i'm hoping to be in the low 15's or mid 15's and that's quick to me. do you even know what your talking about to be hitting 11 seconds. seriously you guys need to consider the fact what little work he has done to the engine and to still be able to hit 14's. congrats on the time and for the other peps talking about they're disappointed with the swap they need to have one to be able to talk cause i've been in one and it is fast.

Your comparing a stock 135hp GT to a ST185 or ST205 and you think the GT has any chance to compete, at all?

I havent come across any turns I couldnt take, however I had to slow down considerably to take them, IMO the GT has a very crappy suspension. Now I havent driven an ST185 and def. not an ST205 but I haven driven AWD cars before and the fact that they are AWD makes a gigantic difference. You took a banked turn at 133mph by ur house? Now I dont wanna get into the stupidity of this move on local roads but hell thats one weak ass turn, take a pic of it I'd like to see. The ST185/ST205 will do nothing less than own a GT on every aspect of driving, no matter if its a crappy driver or not.

Stock suspension has poor body roll IMO and I'm actually looking to stiffen it up considerably because I'm so unhappy with it. Also, I maybe jaded by the 350z suspension and my friends 2.5RS suspension (real suspensions) but my GTs (1.75''drop/215mm tires) is mediocre.

I'm confused when you say that the GT-Four/Alltrac has too much lag due to power loss of the AWD setup. Is this turbo lag or what, its vague.
I'd like to see the vid of a GT(2) outlaunching an ST185.

i know in maryland at the track if your under 14 second quarter mile your sposed to wear a helmet at the track and if your under 12 you have to have a rollcage/helmet both or your disqualified.

14 seconds is hella fast, im not gonna bother trying to find who said it wasnt fast cause i dont want to flame them personally , but im pretty sure they are a moron.
