the goal is to IMPROVE braking
when a normal rotor is heated during braking
it creates gasses that prevent the brake bad from addiqitly contacting the rotor
kinda like if you take the same polarity magnets and try to push them together they push against there is a lil buffer zone thats what the gases do

Slots aren't for that purpose, slots slice off a thin layer of the break material
