I hear these are just for show and nothing more. These will not improve braking at all.

are those larger than the stock GT rotors? they look to be the same size?

if they are brembo they are fake crossdrilled

people buy them the use a drill and drill holes in them

i hear www.irotors.com carry a nice set of cross drilled rotors.

buying cross drilled or slotted rotors will not help you stop faster it eliminates break fade.

They cant increase your stopping ability, less surface area for friction, they just keep the breaks from over heating so in hard driving situations its better.

i bout some cross drilled brembos, that were heat soaks and chamferd from a reliable compant, with axiss metal master break pads. it feels pretty good but cross drilling doesnt effect any thing just looks nice

it depends if it is designed right

the goal is to IMPROVE braking
when a normal rotor is heated during braking
it creates gasses that prevent the brake bad from addiqitly contacting the rotor
kinda like if you take the same polarity magnets and try to push them together they push against there is a lil buffer zone thats what the gases do
if you have slots or vents then the gases are released and exit the rotor better decreasing brake temp and INCREASing brake performance
the lower temp helps prevent "glazing" too hot for the pad melts rotors get to hot melt kinda not sure which one probably the pad and this high brake temp and increase in brake gases prevent you from stopping(trust me its not fun i've done it you can't stop at all)

so hence the reason for performance rotors

but to BENEFIT from them it has to be under high speed/heavy braking
to get a benefit not just every day driving

here's the 411 for your punk@$$ on how braking systems work.

Brakes need heat to work, but too much heat will lesson the ability of the pad to grab the disc (this is brake fade)- this causes an increase in stopping distance. Cross drilled rotors are designed with a specific drill pattern that enhances air flow.

Done right, this does not affect the integrity of the rotor and at the same time insures maximum cooling for the disc.

Done poorly, like the ebay "brembo" rotors he's talking about, it will SIGNIFIGANTLY decrease the structural integrety, and do nothing for brake ventalation.

Drilled rotors don't magically make your car stop quicker, nor will they make the car stop quicker in all conditions.

As for SLOTTED rotors, the slots clean the friction material (those are the BRAKE PADS) by slicing off a thin layer, they do NOTHING TO HELP COOL. They do in fact, have the opposite effect

The face grooves slice the brake pad material, allowing the pad to bite harder into the disc, thereforce causing an increase in the disc temperature.

What does that mean? It means that it helps competition vehicles bring the pads and the disc up to optimal operating temperatures. It will NOT help anyone without a big brake kit, etc.

it won't help you stop quicker either

and it will decrease your pad life.

Go sit in the corner and cry.

if you want crossed and slotted rotors go to NOPI those are good but shipping take time

2 don't get ebay rotors they are known to break
and dangerous

3) big brake kits are good the 7th gen front will fit on your front you just can't have 14s or 15s i think
you need at least 16
i could be mistaken and the 15s will work

get into it, you're wrong and you know it.

Crossdrilled slotted rotors are all show, they lose too much actual surface brake area.

Just because I haven't done that work to my car, doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. You obviously have no clue.

Furthermore, I didn't bring your car into this, why are you bringing mine? Your car looks like a POS to me, but you don't hear me saying that affects your knowledge of brakes. Thats childish playr. Furthermore, if your knowledge of wiring is anything like your knowledge of brakes, you couldn't wire up a touchscreen if it was plug and play.

Either get back to the topic at hand- disprove my correct explanation of braking systems Crossdrilled/slotted either. Or admit you're wrong, and shutup.

Blimey, you are all just slightly wrong!!! I have black diamond drilled and slotted rotors, they are at least 50% better than stock. The slots clear the pads of any debris, hence ensuring that there is maximum pad to disk contact at all times. The rest of the stuff you all have mentioned is spot on but secondary to the main benefits that I have stated earlier. I have contacted at least 9 rotor manufacturers and they are adamant that 7th gen big brake kits will not fit on 6th gen front or rear?

Drilled and slotted rotors are just bling items, they are worse than stock rotors because they no longer have enough surface area to brake with.

As for contacting 9 rotor manufactuers, did you contact Brembo? it fits on our fronts. Furthermore, without testing, no big brake kit maker is going to say that it fits on another car, then they'd be liable.

i think they look hott... if i had the extra money i'd probably buy a kit to slap on, not like i go racing around the back roads at extreme speeds neways. im alittle more into show.

for sum reason i really think that what we need to do
is find a reputable aftermarket shop
and have them design and test us a big brake kit
along with a rear disk for the ST
comes as 1 kit
or a individual?

Brembo big brake kit is:

$2,395.00

for the fronts.

and designing a proper big brake kit takes upwards of a hundred thousand dollars.

Im thinking about getting some brembo calipers from lets say a wrx and making brackets to fit them. If they don't fit, they go back on ebay. Make a pattern out of cardboard, measure the offset and buy some plate, and off to the mill. Don't know if it will work though. Man I always get these crazy ideals. I swear I don't do any drugs >>
