OK , I'm not sure if I really understand what is your problem but here the way I go ;

- 4age crank gear (I think they are all the same)

-7afe oil pump and tensionner

- 944 belt

- catcams 256" in 8.5mm lift and 243" ex. 8.0mm lift

Since I don't have the chance to run and tune the car for a long time I not sure if I use the right way to set up the cam/camgears. I started with this :

also read this :

http://www.billzilla.org/engvalve.htm

Also be sure to make "your own" tdc mark on the damper .

Keep us informed

Claude

well all this tranny talk is good but not my main problem right now but when i came to that bridge i will deal with it until then i will run the c52 for a year to see how it does and go from there

well we have to go back and redo the cam issue

it was marked for tdc and rechecked

according to toyota all the 4ag lower timing gears are the same so

i have a extra tension in my set up so my belt is routed a little differnt in one spot

but here is a little more tech stuff

I have a 2.095 lower and 4.48 uppers. With these cam gears the lower pulley should measure 2.24" not 2.095" but this was solves the difference is to account for belt stretch

944 belt

i might have a small issue of timing gear and cam gears teeth arent matching 100% still looking into this

crower 272 in and ex
my cam card is not matching the the number we got off the cams
Once again the cam card we have shows Duration @ .050 to be 224'/224' not 220'/228'. The gross lift on the card shows .321/ .321 not .374/.393 ???
so crower is not being abig help so might just run the stock cams i got from bee for now until i get the car dailed in then probably put some hks cams in but this is if we cant figure out how to get these cams to work

hmm i wonder i will have to try that tomorrow and see how fast i can do that, and that is another thing that makes the fast and the furious retarted, they said that in a drag race that you should doubble clutch, in 10 seconds i couldnt shift twice even probally

they were granny clutchin' remember? lolol.
if they were 10 seconds or less car, they'll probably looking forward to going clutchless and just having a slap stick.

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.
Nik, for when your C52 does go out, I'm 99% sure that you can find someone to make you a flywheel. I have heard of people welding filler rod and filling up the bolt holes, then machining it and redrilling a different pattern, maybe that would work for you. Or maybe a company like Fidenza can just make you one that will work. Either way, once you have an E51 or E58 in there you won't have a problem.

The shop doing the build sounds top-notch, I'll bet you're paying a pretty penny for it. smile.gif

Come on down to South Carolina when I move, and I'll give you a free run on the dyno biggrin.gif

The biggest issue with using a gze tranny is gonna be axles, flywheels and clutches can all be worked out trust me; thats the prolly one of the biggest issues with the gze swap (next to wiring and all that jazz)

Looks like a great build tho cant wait to see some numbers smile.gif

Nik, the one you're going to want is the E58 out of the Corolla Levin with the 4AGZE engine. It's already set up for FWD use, you're still going to need custom axles most likely, and flywheel of course. And mounts.

QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Drive over to my house and take me for a ride! then drive home. That would help it out a bit.

gas price is way to high to be driving alot - maybe if we could chip in to pay for his gas than he'll consider driving around to meet some of us
