What would be more beneficial for the ST buying the turbo kits they sell for the corollas and do minor custom work for fitment or hooking up a 75 wet shot of nitrous. If the internals where upgraded slightly basically the stronger rods they sell for the st because I dont think there are any pistons unless you go custom and a p&p and some other things to make the motor able to take the stress.
Turbo Kit vs. 75 wet shot nitrous? - 6G Celicas Forums
I'd stay away from nitrous, especially if its your only performance mod.
MyFlickrMyeBay_Perpetual Aperture_
that and you already have your pieces backwards!
pistons are an easy find you go to HKS,ARIAS, Wiseco anyone and buy 4agze pistons and rings
4age head gasket
port and polish
and CUSTOM rods

Nitrous could work, but I wouldn't run a 75 shot on an ST without the parts playr158 listed. Since you'll have to go that far you might as well go turbo. Now if you run maybe a 25 shot that is should be safe.
Nitrous is icky, its like AIDS for your car! LOL
Unless you want the sleezy motel room "quick-fix" just go with a turbo set up.

Armed? Armed with what?Oh I dunno, colorful language, bad breath, a feather duster...Whatta you think theyre armed with guns you tit!
do both. put a huge 20g turbo on it so it cant spool. then have a window switch with a 35 shot to spool the turbo lol. problem solved. will it last? probly not... will it work? maybe?

there are pistons with lower compression and rods are almost impossible to find and are spendy i went custom.
yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
Nothing like sending an nitrous oxide in a high compression engine and waiting for 1 serious detonation.
MyFlickrMyeBay_Perpetual Aperture_
wait, i dont know much about mechanics. ive seen people with nitrous and turbo. is it better to have low compression pistons or high compression? thanks and sorry if this is a dumb question. >

low comp. turbo high comp N/A

What's the compression on 7a's? I'm a big fan of nitrous. IM me sometime and I can tell ya more. But I know you can get away with about 75 shot on 5S.
As far as which is better, it's all opinion. Some like turbo for all the time power. I like nitrous, cuz it only stresses my internals more when I want em too. It's also easy to hide and folks would never know.
When I did my nitrous I was being really cautious and buying the stuff I didn't have to have, but playing it more safe. And I was still saving about 800-1000 more then the turbo guys

for a matter of time. That has got to wear the crap out of ur 5s....
yeah it's just a matter of opinion. I like having power everywhere, not just when i push a button. And you shouldn't hit it in every gear like a turbo >
>
you save that money now, but the turbo guys make up for it eventually. In the end you, no offense, still have basically a slow car. Sure it can go fast every once and a while, but that's some major wear and tear on ur motor unless it's built for that.

if you knew one thing about NOS
you should KNOW That you do not want to run a button to just shoot it in
you want to run a throttle position sensor to engage your NOS
aka a WOT trigger....the smartest way to run NOS
and for you dorks out there its not NOS
NOS = a BRAND NAME
NITROUS is what you should refer to it as ouch the rice in here hurts my head
turbo doesn't always put stress on your internals
hence the reason for a boost controller
and staging boost levels
i can drive all day and never hit boost

wouldn't you still wanna have a button? most kits come w/ the WOT sensor that only lets you engage it at WOT. But you still need something to press to make that NAWWWZ start. I mean if not, wouldn't everytime you're at WOT there goes some NAWWWZ >

How often are you at WOT in your everyday driving? It's not hard to avoid slamming the pedal to the floor when you're cruising around town.

all the time.......i live in the middle of nowhere. I just think that would be a serious risk having it kick in whenever the pedal is mashed down lol. Or if u want to merge w/ traffic and u have to give it some gas. Good thing you got that Nawwz to kick u a little extra kick to get into traffic >

anyway my nitrous is hooked up to a button on my steering wheel

yes and b4 that button comes the "ON" switch and the "bottle open"
so if you turn the system "OFF" and "CLOSE" your bottle guess what
the WOT switch does nothing

LoL im just kidding. busting you guys balls. I understand how nitrous works and the aspects of WOT and all that good stuff. But back on topic imo Turbo>Nitrous.
Nitrous is an affordable, quick way to get some extra power. I pick turbo, others pick nitrous. It's personal opinion

starting cost, its affordable
but once you start refilling that bottle, at say $5 a pound, $50 fill up for a 10lb bottle, that begins to add up.
i like gaining power, and only having to fill one thing up, the gas tank.
sadly i have two things to fill up, the gas tank, and the water injection tank. its kind of a hassle, but i still check that WI tank once a day.

Wow, for once I was nice in a post and people torn me apart. I'm not saying turbos suck and nitrous rocks. It just fits my situation better. I'd be happy to my celica in the 15s, but breaking that is just dumb. I'd get a far better platform if I ever wanted my Celica for anything more then something 'fun'. A nice platform like a rwd engine w/ 3S or sr20 or 4G63, ect.
Not flaming turbos, that's just want fits my life style and situation best

Turbos suck AND nitrous sucks. Its rocket power all the way. Dont you people know its the coolest thing now?? Buy like 50 E class model rocket engines, tape them to your trunk/spoiler, and then hit a controller to ignite them all at once. BOOM-- INSTANT ROCKET POWER.

Don't forget that some companies offer an activation switch so that you can actually turn your nitrous on and off at the solenoid and still run the throttle switch.
Funny that I started this topic and I couldnt post on it the whole time because my damn computer had a virus but now that its running again I can. First of all I wouldnt run a big shot of nitrous without some upgrades first just like people with the turbo set ups on their cars dont push it over 10 psi. As for the 4agze pistons even when you use those with the 2mm headgasket I believe arnt you still around 9:1 compression maybey a little lower would that be good for a 75 shot that being the ultimate goal. Wouldnt it be easier to get custom pistons and rods and be sure of the cr your getting? Finally nitrous is really bad for your engine when your not running a correct set up and just being stupid which ends with your motor being destroyed, but you could be just as stupid with a turbo kit just crank up the boost and good by to your engine as well. You just have to be smart about what your doing. Forgot to add one more thing about the price of filling the bottle thats why you would only use it when you race and you better race for the $$$ to fill it.

That sounds good enough but also consider staging you're nitrous. The biggest killer with nitrous is that it hits your system hard unless you stage it let's say 25HP at half throttle to 75HP at WOT. The Venom VCN-2000 is the best computer controlled nitrous kit on the market or maybe the Nitrous Express NXT system but they don't make a manifold for the 7A. Both of those kits give you full control of you're throttle and nitrous timing plus the amount of the shot you want to use. They are expensive but you get the same benefits of boost for a third of the price. Plus you can reuse the kit if you did a swap, the good thing about nitrous it's universal.
