I didn't bother to read the rest, I want the Lotus style so If u r getting rid of them
Let me know.

JDM guy made me do it.
Update:

The UK supplier has indicated that he must charge me a 17.5% UK VAT (value added tax) to the skirts that we are purchasing since they will be purchased and picked up in the UK. This increases the price of the original skirts we are buying. Fortunately, we can get this extra cost back.

Romas is having a friend from London deliver the skirts to him. The supplier has indicated that the VAT can be refunded once the skirts leave the country. Apparently, there is a VAT form that must be stamped at the border. I need to know where to get one of these forms so that we can get it to Romas' friend. Any help would be appreciated. I will post a topic in the general section to see if some of our UK friends can help with this form.

I am waiting for Manny's deposit payment to buy the skirts.

I've heard that before... >biggrin.gif> ...j/k man.

In all seriousness, I need to straighten out this VAT thing and one of the other payments still needs to clear the Ebay check payment process so your tardiness is not really delaying anything at this point anyway.

Update:

I received bank wire information from the vendor today.

There are three things that need to be done before the skirts are ordered.

(1) Confirm VAT tax return procedure (figured it out and have communicated with retailer)

(2) Receive payment from Manny

(3) Confirm receipt of e-check payment from Jeff.

Once these things are done, the skirts will be ordered. The retailer has indicated that he will have the skirts within 2 days. Then, I will work with Romas to have the skirts transported to Lithuania. I am not sure of the timing on this but I will try to find out. After Romas receives them, he has indicated 2-4 weeks for production. Then he will mail them to me and I will mail each of your sets out. It SHOULD be 60-90 days before everyone gets them. Obviously, much of this is beyond my control.

Update:

Good news from Romas guys. He is having a friend pick up the skirts in England and take them to him. He said this should take 2 weeks max. This is less than I had assumed.

Skirts will be purchased very soon.

The UK supplier has not given me his physical address yet despite the fact that I have asked him 3 days in a row. He also has not confirmed for me that he has VAT form 407 and will fill it out for us. Once he does this and I have Manny's deposit, we will order the skirts.

Jeff's e-check payment has cleared.

/update.

Update:

I now have the address of the UK supplier and he has indicated that he needs to get some more VAT return forms. I have asked him by email how soon he will have some more forms and am awaiting a response.

Manny, let me know when I can expect your deposit.

I have to wire the money to this guy because he does not take paypal. There are some wire fees that I am absorbing. He seems to have a fairly reputable business as some on gt4oc.com have recommended him. I have reason no reason to believe he would screw us but we are accepting some risk here.

I would like wire the money Monday, if possible.

Jay

Did Manny get the money yet and has it been wired over?
No. I am waiting on Manny but I am also waiting for the vendor to tell me he has the appropriate VAT form. He has never processed a refund before so he needs to get the right forms. I have two emails into him. He has been very responsive to my inquiries so I am hopeful that I will hear from him soon.

Update:

Heard from the vendor today. He has requested the appropriate VAT form and is waiting for it to arrive. I assume that these things only take a few days.

Manny, I need your payment. Thanks.

Excellent question. Here is what I know and the various factors that come into play.

1. The vendor has to get the VAT tax return form before the payment is made. He has indicated that the form has been requested.

2. Manny has to pay his deposit.

Once these are complete, I will wire the money to the vendor. That will take one day.

3. Once the vendor gets the money, he will order the skirts from his supplier. He has indicated that this will take 2 days.

4. Once the skirts get to the vendor, Romas must notify his friend who lives in London and that friend must deliver the skirts to Romas in Lithuania. Romas has estimated this at no more than 2 weeks.

5. Romas then has to produce the skirts for the group buy. He has indicated no more than 4-6 weeks.

6. I want final payments no more than 4 weeks after Romas receives the skirts.

7. Once complete, I will pay Romas the amount due.

8. He will then ship these to us. Shipping is estimated at 2-4 weeks given past experience with shipments from Lithuania to the U.S.

9. Once I get the skirts, I will ship them out to everyone. Shipping within the states should take no more than 1 week.

I think a realistic goal is delivery by Christmas but it could be as early as Thanksgiving. Of course, it could be later if there are delays. In order to cut down on delays, everyone has to do their part.

Well, as i was noticed then i asked for shipping charge for the skirts - they will be shipped directly from AIRPORT not with the Parcel post, and the time they gave for shipping is 2-3 days to US, and then maybe 2-3 days to go through the customs. Hope this time everything will be ok.

No problem. This VAT tax thing is been a bit frustrating so you are not holding anything up at this point.

Guys in this group buy:

I want each of you to weigh in about the possibility of forgoing the VAT tax refund. It would increase the price of our skirts about $15 per set. If we do that, we could just buy them when Manny pays. Thanks.

Yeah it sounds like too much work to get that all straight. I would say that if nothing is figured out by the time Manny pays, lets just figure it in to the final cost and forget the VAT refund.
