Ill get this thread kickin again. Ok so after all my tattoo threads ive finally decided on a tat. Im going to be gettin my 1st ink tomorrow at 2pm. i cant wait. The guys said itll take about 3 hours or so. Im getting it on the inside of my right arm

I didn't even know this existed.I'll have to post pics when I am not lazy. I have 6 tats and 5 of them are skulls. I also have my labret,nipple and tongue pierced.

It's called a triskele. I know what it means but looked it up for a clearer definition than I could provide: "This symbol is also used to symbolize the Druidic Threefold Sister Goddess: Fotla/Eiru/Banba. Ireland, or Erin, is named after Eriu. It also symbolizes the Wiccan Threefold Mother Goddess: Maiden/Mother/Crone.
The Triskele was a representation of the importance of the number three."

I saw it painted on a tent at Burning Man in 2004 and was drawn to it before I ever knew what it was called or meant. I took a picture of it from the inside of the tent (it was a white canvas tent) because I was so drawn to it. When I got back I researched the symbol, because I thought it would make a great tattoo and was exactly what I was looking for. When I found out what it was, I knew it was a perfect fit for me as my second tattoo. My first tattoo is the ancient Hebrew Seal of Solomon, kind of a way to stay connected to my Jewish ancestry. Being half Irish, and a chick, this one is the perfect balance for me to be connected to my Irish ancestry. So I drew a picture of it on a flight to NYC, and had it done at Third Eye in Brooklyn.

ok so there isnt really an official tattoo thread. so i figured ill make one. the one that is around on the forum isnt very active at all. the posts are fairly far apart and no one ever pays attention to it. I also see people posting threads asking for ideas or placment and such so this thread is for all of that. everything tattoo. I just wanna start fresh. Mods forgive me.

I would show my piercings, but I know how you all don't like Man Nipples! LOL and you guys already seen the ones in my ears and face.

I got all of my tattoos here in Okinawa, Japan. I will try and find my pics and post them up here. I don't have a lot, but 3 small ones and two medium sized. I love ink, I just wish I could afford more.

I've been wanting a tattoo, I'm just waiting to come up with the exact design & location I want. This would be my first, obviously, and I want something that's meaningful and that I'm not gonna hate to look at in a couple years.

Since I'm Dutch and was born in Switzerland, I was toying around with the idea of having a flag-sized banner diagonally split in half, with the Dutch and Swiss flag on either side. It needs to be in sort of a flat, open location, which basically leaves just the back. I'm also thinking that it should be a little bigger, since I don't want it to be just a giant blob of color.

^Take your time in deciding, just to be sure it's what you want. And remember that if you get it done on your back, you'll never see it really but that may not matter to you. I think your idea sounds pretty cool actually - what about combining the two to make one flag, something like this?

Actually Griff, I had it drawn out but can't scan anyway right now.

And that idea is pretty cool...but I'd want a professional artist to look at it since I don't want it to be some giant blob of color on my back.

That was the basic idea Griff. Problem is, it tends to come out a little boring, but I might just have a border added, or have the colors fade into each other.
