My conversion - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #38377 58 posts Started by Rayme
Ok guys, as of now I've put my order on all necessary parts to make the gt-four front end conversion.
So far I've estimated the total cost of the part, including shipping, custom/duties, to around 1600$, in Canada.

I'll post pics as it goes, I might change teh color of the car to white, if not, a similar blue that I have. wink.gif

Word, but they look ok when they are dirty!
there's nothing wrong with white cars... a 6g looks best black, and white is next best IMO

No foglamps for now, I got a pair of universale driving light I might try to put into the sockets. The hood vents should be coming with the hood and bumper on my last order..

Well I got some more pics up.

The lowering springs are in :

And I test fitted the spoilers blocks, really happy with it, its looks so bulky and tuff in real life versus photos, so cool smile.gif

And the room that hosts the parts while waiting for the rest laugh.gif

That's it for today biggrin.gif

Get a set of DCW clear turns.... They look awesome
Alright, after 8 freaking hours, I installed my springs myself, despite the attemps I didn't save the rear sway bar links...oh well, its still gonna be cheaper than if I made them installed by someone instead. biggrin.gif

I REALLY love that look with no spoiler and dropped...mmhh....

nice !
It's looking good, I want to see the final result.
i found a killer price on oem sway end links. i think they were 28.38 each
If you like the spoiler-less look id be willin to buy the raiser blocks off you...that drop looks perfect though.

the end links are always the worst to remove... so far, i've always found ways to remove them.. even on my old rusted 5th gen which took me 2 hours.

anyway, rayme your car's looking good. are you repainting the gt4 parts to match the current color or are you getting a whole paintjob all together?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was able to save the endlinks. Yeah they were rusted but I hammered the inbus right in very hard so it had alot of grip. When order my whiteline swaybar I will order a set of stiffer endlinks too.

JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
wow this is an exciting thread! keep it up! looking good man... yeah spoilerless is the way to go if your planning to drop it to the ground. can't wait till the project is complete but for some reason its alot more sweeter when the project is in progress there just so much feeling when your putting on those new raiser blocks, springs, looking at your ride from different angles nto to mention spending hours and hours... its all for the pride and joy!

A small update, called toyotaworld and only the hood is being waited for, I'm getting excited again laugh.gif .
Hopefully I'll be done before the import show in september, theres NEVER 6th gens in there.

Make sure you tighten the end links as hard as you can or you'll start hearing klunking noises when going over bumps.

nice.. can't wait for you to get the parts in.. then see it installed on the car.

as for me, the truck's committed delivery date is today by 5pm.. or no freight charge (as for their freight policy). and i called in sick for work just to get these parts in.
i'm sitting here waiting anxiously for the truck.. where's that damn truck! aahhh.. my head's going to explode!! IPB Image

awesome! i was just about to PM you to ask how your conversion was going..
i've just started mine, just to let you know, it'll be a b**ch to put the GT4 reinforcement bar on.. it needs to be modified a little bit to fit. don't worry though, i'll let you know what i did.

btw, did you order the GT4 foglamps too?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
looks good man, just wait till the first time you see the car with everything painted and installed. it really brings out the best in the celica...the lines, the agressivness of it...its all perfect for the car. wink.gif

I didn't order the crash bar, I'll modify the stock one instead. And I didn't order the fog lights yet, though I did order the "fog lamp" bezels, Might look into cheaper alternative.

I can't wait to see it done..! It's going to be all white too

the way i look at it, i seriously don't think you can use the original bar because it would really need to be cut ALOT. but anyway, i wonder if anybody else with the conversion has done that?

btw, i bought some 4" fogs at Princess Auto which fit the foglamp bezel perfectly... just letting you know.
