If you had a wideband O2, you could want to tune a NA car to something like 12:1 all the way across right? Same thing with a turbo car but just more risky? A buddy of mine has been messing with his SAFC2 in his sr20det 240sx, and I just thought it might be a good idea to help him out before he screws the motor up. God bless that guy, he'll spend $300 on a SAFC2, and run with a broken power steering pump, broken brake booster, broken a/c, a leaky radiator, and he will still talk of his next investment to be an equal length up-pipe.

I like that one, the AEM Gauge-Type Wideband UEGO Controller (I think you're talking about the same one). its actually the cheapest on ebay out of the package deals that come with everything

if you buy that and tune, u should sell it to me after you get u're tune done

btw, turbos generally aim for ~11-11.5 if driven a lot.

thats the one i have. ... it works great. however, in your case, i would just pay the 50bucks for dyno time and do all your tuning there. on a stock NA 7afe, you dont really have to monitor things at all times like you would on a turbo car.

I disagree. It never hurts to monitor everything. I would put a gauge on everything I could if I had the money and space on the dash. I don't trust the "idiot" lights. And gauges are really good tools for finding out what's wrong with a car when they break. Besides that, turbo or NA, it doesn’t matter. You’ll have problems in both. Turbo is just more prone to things because there is more stress on the motor from the forced air and most turbo cars and driven hard. But if you’re going to drive your NA Celica hard, get the tool to monitor it constantly. If you don’t, you’ll wish you had.

I know. I'll eventually need the gauge anyway, but because its not necessary right now I'm trying to hold off on it as long as possible

hehe , i'd take you out for a blast were you in the uk....
i am quite paranoid bou any damage happenin under the hood, hence all the gauges.. but weight aint an issue as i am not competeing in official sports etc...lol
hence why the leathers and full interior etc...
i'm happy with the 330bhp its runnin plenty quick enough for me...
and if i can give a bmw m6 a run for his money its plenty power,,,,lol

If you ever figure out what to cover up the little empty space with, let me know.

I know, I was very pleasantly surprised how well they worked


we cut out a piece of plastic to go there but it was close to impossible to fit it properly and make it stay flush with the center console trim in place... unless I were to glue it directly to the back of the trim piece, but I wanted something a little less permanent. I'll think of something soon, meanwhile you do the same and let me know if you come up with something

my friend suggested I put a piece of clear plastic there and then stick a blue LED light behind. lol.
