i would hit fuel cut if i went past 120 (or i assumed it was fuel cut) it felt literally like i hit a brick wall, motor wouldnt function, then kick back in once i slowed down tongue.gif

well here is what i figure out about the 3sgte going fast..i did a couple higway runs on my 3s and it seems as if once you hit a buck 20 our ecu wont let us go any faster? i dont understand that either??... frown.gif ive heard if you go full stand alone you can go past that but our stock ecu just wont us go past 120...

yeah, thats what i figured was going on, im on the fence about going over 120 though, it scares me sometimes going that fast... and full standalone is just too expensive for me, i dont want to tune every detail would be a bad investment unless youre a real gearhead or using the car for the track

but now i cant get my car this week because the shifter cables that i got from idaho, ARE FOR AN AUTOMATIC!! the #%^!that i ordered them from WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT LISTENING when i said MANUAL! BOY AM I PISSED! ANOTHER WEEK DOWN! that means it will be the end of NEXT WEEK before i can EVEN MAYBE get the car!! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

BTW i found out what that loud whining noise was.... in the accident pics you can see that the intake manifold is pinned against the firewall. this resulted hairline crack in the intake manifold (not really surprised). figured it was a intake problem but wasnt sure because there was no high idle, but after spraying the crack, the motor bogged down. the crack will only get bigger with boost so now im searching for another frown.gif, i tried to compare, but im not sure if a 3rd gen will work. kindasad.gif mad.gif maybe the hairline crack can be welded? it is made of cast aluminum.

any suggestions?

NINJA EDIT: i just found out welding could be a good way to go (instead of rerouting ic piping for a new intake) thanks pit!
suggestions still welcome though! just wondering thoughts! biggrin.gif

The Only worry we have about welding the manifold is the fact that it may indeed warp....and to top it off we dont run our shop that way, nothing gets half done here! Our Machine shop wont even touch the manifold for us! So it's looking like a new manny for you Matt.

UPDATE: Tweak resurfaced and welded the crack in the intake manifold for a little bit cheaper than my alternative. (THANK GOD because i DID NOT want to pay 561 for the manifold +100 for shipping from japan, PLUS labor to put it in) they got on it quicker than i thought because i was ready to go down there and take it out to save some$ lol biggrin.gif

just waiting for some shifter cables, still been callign around to no avail! lol

Dude when you get that car on the road, you are goin to have to drive down here to gastonia and let me see it one weekend and show it off a little bit, all my friends say 6gcs are a$$, they drive mustangs, and hondas. gah i wish i had that kind of money to do that to mine, hell i wish i had to money to get the shifter cables for my vert. But looks good man keep us updated

yeah its pretty dirty, but i will get 'em cleaned up nice!

i picked the car up last monday from SCC savanna GA, and mostly everything seemed ok, i am going to have it tuned at a shop not too far away, but i have to get this manifold leak taken care of... SOOOO back to SCC i go!
even tweak came out to see her off!

yeah they did, but it started leaking again (exhaust manifold gasket bad?), this time pretty bad, i cant build boost unless im high in the rpm's, im going to call and see what the status is, good news is, so far no boost spike before it was leaking.

HELL YEAH! i need springs BAD! imma hit the buy/sell area in a few weeks after i send it back to georgia and get things running right at the dyno (also considering getting a set of 235 45 17's)

idk what i should do! maybe i should make a poll on rocking the old ninja turtle look again? or mabye flip flop it? what do you think?

actually death, i heard the tenessee meet is going to be CRAZY! it so happens that the toyota guys and i think mitsubishi guys are all going to be there that weekend. but i dont want to drive those twisties and get clipped! i think imma spectate!
