I was just implying that women cant drive. I always picture them getting in a car, starting it, and then WOT into the nearest object.

we are all guilty of it at one point, but save it for the track. spend $50 to race on a track(dont know if this is a real figure) or spend 100 to thousands in fines and jail time.

This is why car enthusiasts always get hassled by cops. Because of street racing idiots. Yeah, I don't care who you are. You brag about that $#!T around me and I am going to chew your @$$ out so bad that you are either not going to want to do it anymore out of feeling stupid, or you are going to get really offended and want to kick my @$$. But I feel that if you got something to prove, you do it on the track. No sense in money spent safety of others, and the privilege to drive at risk for someone who can care less what happens to you. Although street racing is bad, there should be at least 3 rules of street racing (for those stupid enough to get involved):
1) When you race, you race alone.
2) If you get groceries with it, its not a safe race car.
3) If you're pregnant or have dependents you should not be street racing.

I've been able to hit a maximum speed of like 90km/h before having to slow down again for a hairpin or a tight 2nd gear corner. I know people who have gone faster and ditched their car. Hell, I've even wrecked a car driving on them at the speed limit in the rain. Its pretty technical and pretty tough to actually race on.

There's less of a chance that they will go as fast as the people in this story must've been going because they know they have to take the next corner and that the roads are riddled with bumps or are even unpaven. But its probably the least fatal place to race, if you're ever going to race.

The desert though... I can imagine that would be fatal. If you hit a bump and rolled the car around a bit, it would be ages until people found your body, but of course its a straight line so kids with 600BHP hondas will go there and systematically remove all the ricer-genes from the gene pool.

Can we please stop with theses street racing posts? Your acting like street racing is the worst possibley thing you could do. There are alot of things worse. why dont you post threads about how druggies are idiots? or Murdering a family member? i mean you probably see street race related deaths in the news about 5 or 6 times a year if that. we all understand strret racing is bad. but some of us dont do it to be cool. Im going to be honest. on occation i race. but i do it with no one in the car but me and late at night. i dont care if any of you think less of me. im the same person. Im sure all of you have done something bad like that in your life. Your acting like street racers are the most horrible people in the world. in my area some of them are the nicest people ive met. its just something they do. we dont do it on small 2 lane roads with cars parked ont eh side. they are all more open and plenty of room for error. So yes street racing isnt the smartest thing to do but posting threads like this isnt gonna make people stop doing it. so why waste time? if you hate racers so much then go talk to your damn mayor and sort sh!t out with him. Love me or hate me.

Death of a person, for a cheap thrill. It is really selfish. Now, does it happen? Am I guilty of it from the past? Yes! I admit to doing it on the freeway when no one else but me and the other driver are on an open freeway with not a single car in sight. Once there is a visual of anything, it is then ceased. But that doesn't justify my actions or say it is ok. I should not drive when I have had even a few drinks, and that is when my judgment is poor and I do that. I know better still, yet I have did it.

Anyways, that is besides the point. The point is the MEDIA focuses on this crap and it affects everyone. So you want to race, you wreck your car and no biggie to you. Well people see that, police and media. Then everyone who loves the hobby/sport is then targeted, even when they are innocent, and we all hurt over it. The law comes down even harder, and then you are hassled. Then you wish deep down inside there was something you can do, because you love it so much, but you don't want to get something taken away that you dreamed of owning or worked so hard to get, because you will be convicted of intent to race over the modifications you did, simply because you didn't want to settle for the average, every day car.


That is what this is about. Alcohol is worse. Drugs are worse. But modified cars are easier to crack down on with a possibility of catching someone of either influence from mentioned in this paragraph. Remember, cops have a quota to meet. They catch you, more money for them. Not that they are @$$es, but they have a job to do and we have a responsibility for our passions.


One more thing to remember:

Nobody wants to take responsibilities on their own. Suicide? They blame the music. That is why it is up to us who love what we do, to be responsible and not ruin it for others. Because when a death or any crime is related to what it is we love, then they come after all of us, not just you.

yes raceing with no other cars in sight is how it happends around here. if there is a car in sight im usually the one to brake and get on with my buisness. but i havent raced in about 1 month n' a half. and i am done due for reason for college. UTI doesnt tollerate it and i dont feel like giving up my dream for like u said a "cheap thrill". I just get angry at posts like this because the bash on street racers and they arent all bad people. they make seem like they are.

In Houston there have always been areas where the cops will sit down the street and watch people street race on abandoned roads mostly in business parks. I grew up street racing [Mostly back there]. So I can sympathise but D-Man had a good point earlier - if someone kills my kids while their street racing they better be damn sure they kill me too cause I don't care what happens - that person is dead on the scene if I can move.

theres 3 places they mainly take place. at least ones ive been too, an abandoned military tank test track. 2 miles long. a 1 miles stretch of nothin but farm land with a 3 lanes. and the interstate when no cars in around. I have been around racing my whole life beleive it or not. i am 17. i do consider myself a good driver do to being taught my my uncle who ahs been to raceing schools b4. but just cause im taught by the best doesnt mean i am. i am very cautious of other peopl on the road. trust me im a family person. the last thing i would wanna do is hurt someones kids. If you all wanna think less of me thats fine. but im still the same severX13 with a busted ass bumper lol
