I must've missed that... oops.

Bump - two days left guys!!!
Hey,

When are you going to put up the voting threads? I am thinking that if you put up the photos that are going to be voted for on the 4th its not very long to view and decide it could be nice to spend a day or two before the voting opens to view the final photos. Also it might out a lot of strain on the server.

I realise that there is a site with all the submitted ones up but i am guessing you are going to trim these down a bit.

How is the voting going to be done? everyone votes for their favorite and the top 12 or so get selected or are there going to be x number of photos in one month lots and the top from each month gets selected?

Just my opinion about this smile.gif

- voting at groups is not good idea UNLESS those groups are "balanced" (I mean... if voting groups are made like "stunning group", "good group", "moderate group", "the rest..." only result would be 3 stunning pics, 3 good, 3 moderate and 3 from rest... not 12 amazing pic!)

- selection of "only one from group" is not good as well... (that means 12 vote rounds... 12 winners)

- selection of 12 from one big group is so hard if you have more that 40 pictures...

so... Michelle has really hard task with that smile.gif

I would combine two ways like:

a) do we have 60-70 pictures? ok... let's make two "semi-final" rounds to select 24 pics with highest score... (pick-12-you-like system)
b) make "final round" with those 24 pics to select the best of the best... (pick-12-you-like system again)... or decide to have two versions of calendar smile.gif

Do we have until the end of tomorrow to submit? I have a picture I want to submit, but I have to do some photoshop to it first...

Just wanted to add

A big kudos for those of you making the calendar - it is not easy. No I am not submitting a photo since I don't have a 6th Gen.

Good luck to all

^ thank you tongue.gif

As for when the photos need to be in by: I set October 31st to get you guys to move it along. Basically if the photos aren't in my in-box by Tuesday the 4th when I get to work, I'm not including it in the voting. So yes, you last minute stragglers are fine if you send me your stuff this weekend. I won't be on line this weekend though, so don't freak out when I don't reply to your PMs or posts about if I got your stuff or not. I will reply to them Tuesday morning, as it's likely I won't be on line Monday either because I think I'm taking that day off.

As for how the voting is going to go down - Malpaso basically has hit it on the had as to how I want to do it. Two rounds - top 24 votes go into round 2. Again - the same car will NOT appear twice by the end of round 2. Round 2 will be the top 12; if one car gets picked twice, I'll move on to the next top vote that's not the same car. As for what month the images appear in, honestly, I'll probably employ my 15 years of graphic design experience to decide that myself.

I'm working on getting a quote to have the calendars printed with a printer rather than on-line, so I can feel like I have some quality control over it. I want this to be a quality calendar that we're all happy with! Depending on the cost of printing though, I might need to get "pre-orders" to cover it since I'm poor and can't pony up the cash up front to cover the printing cost. Naturally if I go this route I'll know how much the calendars are gonna be. Is this something some of you would be willing to do, place pre-orders, if it means keeping the cost down by having them printed locally to me? If not, that's cool. I just need to know my options.

Cool, I was just wondering what the plan was. To be honest I didn't know how it would be done. I do agree that the way you have decided will be best.

Thanks for all your time and effort that has been put into this so far.

Bump! All you stragglers, get your pix to me this weekend or you're OUT!

Note to everyone regarding the election:
For everyone (particularly those of you not in PST): I will post the poll up when I get to work on Tuesday morning!!! For many of you, this will be well after NOON your time. Please don't PM me wondering where it is. It will go up.

I have approximately 84 submissions, so it's gonna take a little time to build the poll!!! But it WILL go up on Tuesday the 4th. I'll leave it up until Wednesday night PST/Thursday morning PST. Any votes after that won't be counted, because I can't keep track of stragglers, and we've got to keep this moving on to Round 2, which will be posted Thursday morning the 6th PST. Round 2 will end Friday night at approximately 5 pm PST. I'll put up a post in each poll to indicate that it's ended though.

all the entries are outstanding, going to be an awesome calender!!!:)

hmmm, should have been a tighter limit on entries per person. The original thread was 1 per person. People submitting 10 almost identical pictures is not a great idea imo.

It's just gonna spread the votes they would have got more thinly reducing their chances of getting in surely.

If you wind up needing preorders, just let me know.

cant wait to begin the poll-ing (sounds kinda kinky)
I got this suggestion for the calendar, what do you guys think:

>
QUOTE
>you know what also would be great,,,
that the calendar had an extra page witht he specs of each car featured
or also if it displays the birthday of the owners of the car that would also be great, dont you think?

My response was:
>
QUOTE
>If it's possible, I'd totally include a page with the specs of each car. However that will increase the price of the calendar, so first I need to see what the printing quote comes back as. I can't just "add one page", printing doesn't work like that unfortunately. I'll post your suggestions up in the official calendar thread and see what kind of feedback the community has to offer. I thought about the birthday thing too but had ruled it out in my head. We'll see!

Looking for feedback.
+1 vote for the idea. I like it because people can see what went into these cars if they want to do one of the mods themselves, and that would make it VERY easy to know what was done. I'd be willing to pay extra for that feature.
+1 for the idea. but some *ehem* my car has only simple mods i dont wanna boast kindasad.gif

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
It's not about showing off the mods - it's just about stating the specs. Some cars that might not have a lot of mods but make it into the calendar are GREAT examples of how elegant our cars are stock, too. I've seen some really fine examples of stock cars on this site. There's kind of a gracefulness in that kind of purity.

Don't get me wrong. I've got all kinds of stuff I'd like to do to my car - I'm not just saying that because mine is mostly stock. Mine may be mostly stock, but mine is also scraping the bottom of the Round 2 Poll laugh.gif
