So....... i got a new car..... - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #64176 39 posts Started by manphibian
Spotted this local to me on ebay and went to see it and fell in love smile.gif Got it for an absolute bargain price.

Denim Blue,225bhp, 6 speed, full blue leather, 50,000 miles, MINT!

They're not for everybody i know, but i love it and it's quite a lot quicker than the Celica, a lot torquier to.

So why no GT-4 you may ask........

well........ i just felt i had done evrything i wanted to do to mine, and couldn't face starting again with a near-identical car....

Don't worry, i'll still stay on here, and anyway i still have the Celica until i can get what i want for it smile.gif

nice! that color is amazing too haha
nice choice there Luke! I love dark blue on most cars smile.gif

what year is that one?

nice, i just traded my 225 Roadster yesterday frown.gif!!
They are seriously nice cars, I want the TT 3.2 V6 S-Line now, it looks more agressive smile.gif
But for now my new baby is a Titanium gray Mazda RX8 GT, loving the car but not the 10 MPG!!! The audi gave me minimum 20MPG, but thank god its not my daily driver tongue.gif

A few things to look for...

Make sure you do the full timing belt job if you have 60,000 miles, audi originally thought it would make it to 110,000miles but they were wrong!
Snapped timing belt = $6,000 new motor...
If your front suspension starts to clunk or squeak, change the sway bar bushings, they only cost $16 but take about 4 hours to change out if its your first time...
Change the haldex oil at least every 15-20K miles but alot of TT owners recommend every 10K miles, it costs A LOT but if you buy the special wrench you can do it for alot less.

I really miss the power of the turbo and tuning is realatively inexpensive for big power!!!
Now go throw some 18 inch BBS wheels and drop the car biggrin.gif

Cheers, it's a 2001, but looks brand new!

Thanks, i am getting the belt and water pump changed after christmas...

Suspension seems sound, i'll get the haldex done next service.

Really good condition, just a couple of small problems, the switch has gone on the drivers door so the light/buzzer doesn't come on if the door is opened.

Got THIS today, it's awesome! biggrin.gif real time BHP and torque figures mapped out as you drive, boost/temp gauge, everything!

Need to check all the hoses and stuff as there's an error code for Boost Pressure Control: Upper Limit Exceeded

But yeah, loving it so far! Just grips forever with the 4WD biggrin.gif

-LukeMy Flickr
Yea mine was a mint 2001 as well and that switch thingy was intermittent on my passenger door as well redface.gif

"Just grips forever with the 4WD" ------------>I KNOW!!! i never found a situation where it would loose grip, i was SO used to it that I almost ran my rx8 into a curb due to understeer from loose gravel redface.gif!!!!

I'll get another TT when i finish school next year, once practicallity is not an issue tongue.gif

and that link doesn't take me to a specific product what did you get???

O AND YOU NEED A NEW N75 VALVE most likely, as it controlls the boost level..

Nice Luke! thumbsup.gif

Nice...sad to see that Celica go, how much are you going to sell for?

Audi makes the best interiors...just not a fan of the round exterior on the TT.
That liquid guage has to be one of the most EPIC inventions ever!!!! if you noticed, it tells you N75 positioning, so when you get it installed you can see if it is indeed getting stuck redface.gif!!

91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204
lol, i'm not leaving smile.gif

It finally stopped raining so here's another pic, whether you like it or not! laugh.gif

-LukeMy Flickr
oooh, i haven't taken any yet, here's the ones from the ebay ad.....

-LukeMy Flickr
I hate to see your Celica go but nice AUDI. I know it's hard to pass up the AWD turbo.
Thanks man, yeah it was super cheap so i had to get it!

I'm gonna miss the Celi (if it ever sells). Took it out for a blast today to keep the battery ticking over. It's still a great car.

Feels a bit slower now, but still a real head-turner. More so than the Audi (until i start modding) biggrin.gif

*drool*

Those TTs have a lot more room than you'd think. I used to be a driver for a collision center in College Park and I drove a lot of Audi's. TTs I could actually fit in! With me being a 6' 240lb dude I need the room. lol

Nice buy! Those are so much fun to drive!

1998 Toyota Celica GT2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STi2007 Toyota Tacoma 4x41974 Datsun 260Z1997 Subaru Legacy L WagonKind of missin' my Celica GT! Hit me up if you're ever in my area. I'm always down for a meet.

Great choice, the TT is an excellent drivers car. smile.gif

Any plans for it?
