Every year about this merry time, i hear people talking of EggNog... WTF is EggNog? When i was a kid, i though it was alcholic; because you always see some drunk dude on a TV christmas special, and someone says; "he's had too much Eggnog".

But the otherday, my chick f-ed up and bought me EggNog Coffee creamer... and it tasted like i was munching on a cinimin stick or something Is EggNog really THAT nasty? Is it a form of alchol? Does it even have Eggs in it? WTF is a "Nog"?

Not trying to be totaly retarted here... but i've seen it mentioned several times on this fourm; so someone help me out here.

Are the eggs drank raw? What is "frothy" texture? (sounds nasty)There's only one substance i've ever heard described as "frothy" and so it makes me think that i will not want to be drinking EggNog. (lol)

Frothy means liquid and water mixed so that it's bubbly. Like the froth on the top of a Cappuccino.

Real egg-nog has raw eggs in it, the kind you buy at the store does not.

I just get it from the grocery store. I really like it, I think it's pretty good stuff. I mean it's not as good as chocolate milk or anything.... but ya know. Wouldn't want it year round, but I like it fine once in a while this time of year.

Death, I drink it stright all year round... I figured it'd be nice to have for christmas so my boozing isn't as obvious.

Though how i'll hide the rest of my family's boozing is another story These mo'fuggers make me look like a 7 year AA member Seriously, People will be putting down coffee cups and grabing beer no later than 10am (usualy 8.30-9.00). within an hour of eating, my mom's new hubby will be walking around drinking vodka from the half-gallon bottles that he buys; Within two hours my mom's will be doing the same with the tequila... My cousin will be working on his second bottle of W/e liquor he polishes and encuraging everyone to take "yea-ger" bombs, tequila shots, raging inferno's or w/e else he can muster up with what i've got... And I'll be trying to convincie my chicks family that we're worthwile inlaws to have

I was hoping we could just have "eggnog" at try to hide ourselfs... But come christmas; (knowning me) somewhere after my first 12 pack, but before i get started on hard liquor... I'll say "fcuk it" and say that i'm proud of my family how they are... After the hard liquor I may even tell em that i love em...

I only drink eggnog during Christmas time..and you dont really drink it..you taste it..its wayyy to strong to drink with a meal or somthing like that..

I basically started drinking on like last Thursday, and after learning today that I'm going to lose my job next week, it is my full plan and intention to not really stop drinking until January 2nd when it's time to get back to job hunting. I'm snowed in today, but you bet your sweet a$$ I'm gonna spike my coffee in the morning on my way to work!

Actually come to think of it my coworker and I bought a bottle of Starbucks Liquor last Friday to keep in our office, so that should play in nicely with my plan to not stop drinking. Just enough to make it home safely and legally (because I'm not down with drinking and driving)

I grew up drinking this from the hands of my great grand ma, which still makes me some when I visit her, and the best part, my wife knows how to make it too.

it's not nasty, it doesn't taste like raw eggs, and the consistency will depend on what temperature you drink it.

if you're trying to get drunk really fast, drink it at room temperature, because it flows better at room temperature, if you just want to enjoy it and stay walking in a straight line, drink it from the fridge, I love it like this.

Oh when is home made you can control how much alcohol you put in it. my Great grand ma uses Johnny Walker black label to make it

RBJ, i used to love candy corn (well, as much as i've ever liked candy atleast) With the yellow orange and white... I used to eat the white and throw out the rest... That and circus Peanuts

On an unrelated topic; Is it wrong for me to put my bro-in-law's (cologne) gift into my old PS-3 Box with a few bricks duct-taped to the inside so that it feels & looksreal? Because i have. I just hope he dosen't intentionally my head into pieces for it (because it wont be accidentally if he does )

about hte gift, I think is not good enough, I mean, you put a cologne in there, If I was to do something like that, I would have wrapped the cologne separately and do the Xbox thing with just the bricks lol, but I guess with the cologne in there is kind of like a safety so he doesn't your head with bricks

Eggnog is what I make for my Ho Ho Ho's

Christ, you are a sheltered child...

Eggnog is as thick as a good chocolate milk. Its sweet, doesn't taste like eggs, and is used primarily to spike with booze (the aforementioned rum is a good choice. Whiskey works well also. Do not use makers mark though.... smells rotten)

Go to your local supermarket. Go to the milk area. Select a reputable brand of eggnog. Purchase said eggnog.

(Optional)
Drive to the liquor store. Buy what sounds good. Take it home. Mix. Consume.

You can make your own eggnog if you'd like.
The stuff in the store has this slightly odd taste IMO. And its overly pasty.

In a blender, use the ratio of one (1) large egg per one and a half (1.5) cups of milk.
You can use evaporated milk instead of regular cow juice for a thicker nog.
And condensed milk for some sweetness,
plus some sugar to taste.

Add freshly grated:
Nutmeg(a lot!)
allspice
cinnamon

and Add whatever alcohol you like, there are no rules. Rum if you like rum, Jack if you like jack. whatever makes you "happy" lol.
AND BLEND!!!

and you can pour it over ice or blend it with the ice but it gets kinda watered down to me if you blend it.



Edit: if you have "smelly" eggs grate some fresh lime/lemon skin in there.
