k so as u guys may know i was worried when a flash camera flashed when i turned right on red near my workplace ....
later finding out it wasnt a no turn on red sign and that i didnt get ticketed....
so later last week , knowing the camera is just bull****, i turned right on red again and i got flashed,,,driving home thinking that cameras retarded and doesnt work.
then i get a ticket for that ****! it says failure to stop at red light.
im going to contest this to see the video footage, as with pics i really cant tell but wow im just so appaled by how STUPID this ticket is....

From what I understand, the sensor that is aimed at the right turn lane does not activate the camera if you had made a full stop before the limit line & then proceeded through the red light after checking for cross traffic. If you rolled through & over/past the limit line without a complete stop, then the is camera activated...

Actually, I've gotten a ticket for speeding when I was travelling UNDER the speed limit, by an actual policewoman. That is a much dumber ticket.

nm i looked at the footage today and after viewing i guess since i so the people on my right turning left i knew it was safe and turned right....but didnt know the dumbass traffic camera actually tickets for dumb things like that.

but since this car is registered to my mom and it is ticketed to my mom, can she go to court and say it is not her who is in the car?

no it doesnt say no turn on red, thats why i thought the first flash was a complete flaw in the traffic camera after checking in daytime, there was no sign.l...
so 2nd time, since i thought it was a legal no turn on red and i saw that it was safe without comming to a COMPLETE stop, i went and now got ticketed....
sigh what i get for driving as safely and legal as possible.... going to school full time and working full time...
now im gonna get a point and insurance rate goes up....sigh i love life

You still have to stop to turn right on a red light, it's like a stop sign buddy. Where did you learn to drive? This is common sense here and the court will see it exactly as that.

It doesn't matter that you figured it was safe by the other cars turning. The law is that you need to STOP at a red light, even if you're going to turn right and there's no sign saying you can't, the light is still RED which means you need to come to a COMPLETE STOP before proceeding. If that isn't what you did, then you broke the law regardless of how many other laws you follow you broke this one and it is your fault.

And it isn't your username that people make jokes about, its what you post.

Has no one here heard of a CALIFORNIA rolling stop??no possible way everyone stops completely every time they turn on red..give him ma break...SO u telling me...if ur driving down the road and tis a red light with traffic going across and u gun it and go right through it and cause ppl to crash is the same as slowing down for a turn and the turned WHEN YOU ARE SHIELDED.Mr grape wat u need to do is get teh video for like 2 hours prior to ur ticket..and count how many ppl dont stop at that light....But u do u need to be more careful whenever ur entering a crowded intersection..

my dad got the exact ticket a few months ago..he saw ppl were turning left so he slowed down the turned..the camera said he was going 17mph..when a prius can take a 90 degree turn at 17mph,celicas should be able to take it at about 60 hahahaha..

you guys in cali may call it a cali rolling stop but every where else its just a rolling stop. weather is a cali rolling stop or a reg rolling stop they are still consider breaking the law weather you are at a light or a stop sign.
