Stellar choice on JL components too by the way wink.gif
Love the build!

current project: looking :(
God i just love it when someone proves all the jealous people wrong and actually do something great rather than just visit all the threads on here and knock their ideas nomatter how awesome they are!

Great job man, I hope you bring it to a meet or two! tongue.gif

She is all done and I'm driving the sh*t out of it. Handles great and no unpleasant noises. The car does need a clutch, it begins to slip above 6k. Besides that all thats left is little things like gauges, cusco underbraces, just ordered a seat bracket for the left side. I'll start number two within the next few weeks.

congrats man im glad to see this thread go a better way than mine did about a year n change ago...and i also feel better about the gas tank everyone was saying that mine was to low it looks the same as your once again congrats!!! if u ever have time we should meet up compare builds etc... i mean its possible to have 3 gtfours on one street
nice work, although that fuel cell doesn't look quite right to me
aaaahh i cant believe i missed the update. wow this is all just soooo amazing!

props to you. you did what a-lot of people only talked about, and not only that you did it in an unconventional but impressive way. Im sure most of us wont be welding two halves together but the way you went about awd conversion is super clean and looks sturdy. I absolutely cannot wait to graduate and do total gt4 conversion to my car as well. I guess im gonna have to live my dream through threads like yours till then haha.

one question, is that the fuel cell thats hanging so low from the rear bumper??? and could you post a pic of what you did with the spare tire hole? did you weld a plate over it?
that thing is sweet! great job man!

I can't believe this. I have to see this sometime haha. The fuel cell looks way out of place, but what else are you really gonna do lol
Looks awesome mate!

Maybe you could get a rear lip like i have to cover up that fuel cell abit?

if my v6 swap exceeds 450 WHP, im going to do this.

1994 Celica GT- TenzoR 1.8in. Drop springs. 16mm wheel spacers.
I went ahead and put a new clutch in the car (exedy stage 2) and since I had to pull the motor anyway the car also received hks cam gears, timing belt, berk dp, fidanzia flywheeel, and new magencor wires. For an appearence upgrade i put the riser blocks on and put some gauges in. Enjoy the pics.

runs out to go buy a Supra.....

Great work!

~bloodMoney
not sure if this was covered but are those ITR recaros? what bases/sliders did you used to mock and fit them on? thanks

The "Fly Low" Project: 3rd Gen 3SGTE
Well as far as cost goes its up there. I really didn't want to spare any expense and bought high quality parts that I knew would help with the longivity of the car. The next one I do will be all stock and I estimate that at costing around 7k (no labor cost included)

The seats are recaro speed which were also used in the jdm integras. I used corbeau seat mounts and sliders ($100 ea). You'll have to modify the rail to get it to work but its fairly simple.

Its cheaper to build it right the first time and it will last longer. I love everything that you did! Are you really doing another one?
mad props brother! how about some videos! smile.gif

How much would you sell the CAD measurements for???

Nice work, everything looks great but, the cell sits really low, I would be worried about dragging that.

I would have the components fabbed up and sell them as a kit. I don't think I would be selling cad files
unless you get a crap load for them. I have had people ask me for cad files, and I don't give that stuff away anymore.
Helping fellow members is one thing, but you wouldn't ask an engine builder to build an engine for free, or a painter
to paint a car for free so why should cad designs be any different.

JDM guy made me do it.

Honestly though, how much do you think he could actually get for them. There's been what a handful of AWD swaps? You still have to weld the mounts in and its not a bolt in solution. Anyone that is going to tackle the AWD swap probably could make the mounts themselves anyways, just easier to buy them or copy if they are out there. It's not as if they are the cad files to a bolt in subframe that lets you mount a badass motor in your car that a lot of people will actually attempt. I've offered to buy the prefabbed mounts from him if the price is reasonible, otherwise i'll just build my own, I think most people attempting the swap would do the same.

Anyways really nice work. I just bought a GT4 gas tank on ebay japan. I paid $350 after shipping... expensive but no more expensive than a fuel cell setup; especially for me since rally america requires fia homologated fuel cells. If you're worried about the tank dragging/looks keep your eye out for one.

I agree, anyone attempting this is going to probaly have the skills to make there own anyway. I would go a completly different route if I wanted to do this.
I would use the rear clip of a GT4 and weld on the part that is already fabbed up from the factory. Then do a 3rd gen swap like the ones that are already proven to work well, RHD is cool, but I am no mailman. I would be fine with a USDM front and leave the vin in place. I have no air qualty testing where I live so it would still be an ST with the same VIN, and simple to license. It will never happen so don't wait for a build thread, something about dumping 10K into a car that books for around 3k is not high on my priority list, damn I sound old. lol

Mad props on the build, I am sure it will be a lot of fun. smile.gif

JDM guy made me do it.
It'll just save some major time not needing to mock everything up and measure and repeat over and over until its right. We don't necessarily need the CAD files. Just measurements. Why can't we be more like the mr2 forums and just help the community out?

This is why I don't. I took the time to measure and draw something, then another member took the original images I posted, and posted them to the 6gc photobucket as his own. Also another member now makes them and sells them. I will do R&D work for free for a select few, people I trust.
