Curb weight includes all fluids and a full tank of gas, hence the term "curb" weight, i.e. the car is ready to be driven. Last time I checked any car around 2500 lbs or less is considered pretty dang light. The 8th gen civics weigh >3000 lbs, as do preludes from the late '90s.

To everyone saying the 4age doesn't belong in the "fat" 6th gen celica:
The curb weight of an AE86 corolla gt-s hatch is ~2300 lbs. The curb weight of an AT200 celica ST is 2415. The 4age should theoretically perform pretty decent in a 6g celica.

Also keep in mind that the 4age weighs significantly less than the 7afe, so the actual weight of a celica with a 4age swap should be around <2350 lbs.

The only reason the GT hatch is heavier than the ST hatch is because the 5sfe is a fat pig of an engine.

According to - http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/toyota...ca/1996_6/5742/ - our 1996 ST202 SS-III (Gen 3 3S-GE, Manual) should weigh - Curb vehicle weight, kg 1210. According to google that would be in imperial measurement - 1210 kilograms = 2667.59337 pounds

The reality is, based on having it actually weighed (none of this generous factory figure crap) it is really 1485kgs
Once again in imperial measurement thats - 1485 kilograms = 3273.86459 pounds

So in my view, That's a heavy car for something that calls itself a sports car with simply just a 2 liter NA engine.
-But- then again, I've never owned an American car before (fk that, high performance jap imports 4 life) so I don't really know what heavy is?

I'm done. Gone way O/T with this so by all means have fun swapping a 1600cc into a Celica GT. Just answer me this, if you're too poor to afford the petrol to run a larger engine, how do you afford a new engine in the 1st place?

3274 pounds is EXTREMELY heavy, I doubt even a GT-4 weighs that much. Where did you get that number from?

My GT4 weighs 1665 kilograms = 3 670.69667 pounds
