I'm more down with a one day type thing...no reason to hit any cities, we can just go to a campground and grill, like the original idea. I'm down to drive a few hours, Orlando would work for me. But if you guys want to hit SWFL, I won't object either, obviously.

Dammit, I won't let this be a flop. I'm down, Samir's down, and Axel's down. We only need a few more people, I think even 6 or 7 6GC's is worthwhile. No reason to make this a big thing, let's just restrict it to a single day somewhere. Just a meet, grill/kick it/chat/whatflippingever, short cruise, and we all go home.
Besides, Axel said he'd take me for a ride in his 3rd gen swapped car...so this meet needs to happen.

maybe if you put it a liltle closer to home i would go,seeing as i have no job time really isnt a issue Jan. sounds like a nice time to drive
My 3rd gen is also open to passengers so you can ride in both and compare ;-p

St.Augustine would be nice thats a 15min drive for me but far for everyone else,so idk
^ I'm not driving to St. Augustine...no way. I still say let's keep it south of O-town, it's so central. But Samir, go ahead and look for some parks...and if there's one that's insanely good, we can go there. But otherwise, a grilling place is just a grilling place. I can tell you guys the beaches down here are nice though, if we're going that route. I also know a pretty good state park down here that has grills, picnic tables, and ample parking. And it's all 30 yards away from the beach.

Trust me riding in a 3s is nothing special. Its like vroooom vroooooooom vrooooom vrum vrum vrum wheeewhooo wheee whoo.. .crap I know I know pull over. Nah its actually fun. If you have never driven in a 250+hp celica and always dreamt that it would be one heck of a ride... yep its exactly like you imagined and even better if its a nice sunny day and road is clear.

Not to rag on my car, but anything is special when 7A-FE and an automatic transmission is involved. The 7A-FE does sound pretty good though...and it does feel torquey. Just a bit powerless sometimes.

Get of your arse and drive darn it. I drive to west palm beach once a week from Tampa area... filling up twice along the way... you ladies should be able to afford to drive somewhere once.. have fun.. not go to dunkin donuts for a whole month and save up and use that money to pay to get you somewhere where you will have fun, meet nice people and get lasting memories.
Not like samir is asking you to give your kidney or anything. har har har.

I'm not objected to driving anywhere. Doing 10 hours of driving (let's just say Fort Myers - Jacksonville - back) in one day is a lot to ask for though. However, if you guys are doing Jacksonville specifically...my brother lives up there, so I could crash there if necessary.

Ferdi, I think it is good to have interest in a meet before we set things up, but people can't commit until we really get a solid meeting place and date. I am glad to see this much interest though!!
SO with that said, What does everyone think about that location there? The springs? OR any other suggestions?
Then when we are decided on our meet location, we can find a date that suits mostly everyone.
When i get the time, I am also going to go PM a bunch of FL members that are still active on the boards in case they did not see this thread, if anyone wants to help with that i would not mind!!

A good location I know is again, this state park: http://www.naplesnews.com/places/delnorwiggins_pass_beach/ Right by the beach, there are grills and tables provided, and there should be decent parking. Water will probably be cold-ish, but it's a great location for a meet.
Samir, if you'd care to submit a location as well, then we can vote. Again, I'm down to drive, maybe not necessarily northern FL but definitely O-town.
And if you want to make a list of FL members since I don't know many, I can definitely help. Although I think you can send one PM to many users, they don't have to be individual. I can talk to Ron down here, his is the one with a Veilside kit waiting for paint. There's Jester in Naples, I don't think he's active anymore.
