Here's the way I look at it. Its jus my opinion tho. Dnt hate on me or bash me bc everyone has their own opinion. Some ppl will move on and do lose interest. That's to be expected. However there may be some ppl who wnt move on and who may get another car but it doesn't mean they will up nd leave their 6gc in the dust. Some ppl may get new cars and park their 6gc nd use it like older ppl with old cars. It may become a weekend/show car. This car may be some of the members dream car. The only car they've ever wanted. If I ever aquired my dream car I wouldn't lose interest in it or sell it unless absolutely necessary. Everyone has a different view on this and there will never be a center point. Ppl come and go and some ppl seem to be around longer than you can remember. I am looking to buy another car currently but that just to use as a dd so I can park my 6gc nd not beat on it as much
6GC for Life - 6G Celicas Forums
I'd like to join this list but I know better than to delude myself into thinking I'll always have my 6GC. Don't get me wrong - I love this car, I've wanted one for the better part of 10 years, and now that I have it I'm completely enamored with it BUT I am already looking at the future and hoping to purchase a 2012 FT-86 (come on 8th Gen. Celica
).
I won't sell the 6GC - it'll be the DD while the 8GC will be the weekend vehicle...at least until kids arrive and then it's bye bye Suzuka.

The inspiration for the FT-86 is the AE86 Corolla but we all know with the positioning of the Corolla in Toyota's current lineup the production 86 will most assuredly not be a Corolla. It has a better chance of being a Celica (since that marque is currently unused and could use a rebirth) or a new Scion tC than a Corolla. Trust me, I know the difference between the two platforms and it seems more likely it'll wind up not sporting the Corolla name it drew inspiration from.

For me, the 6GC has always been my favorite car. The looks of it, are just perfect. I've wanted one for the longest time, but could never afford it in my younger years. I'm not old as dirt, nor am I under 25, so I guess i'm in the nuetral area there. I plan on keeping mine forever to be honest. I cannot forsee me needing to sell it, or losing interest. I'm not a car enthusiast, i'm a 6th generation celica enthusiast, I have no desire to work on other cars. Celica has, and will always be my dream car. I'm also not rushing the process, I'm enjoying everystage of upgrade, mod, or repair. When its all finally done, and they way I want it, I'll never get tired of seeing people go

when you drive by
If children pop up one day, then of course i'll make due and purchase a family vehicle, but the Celica is not going anywhere.
Nor can the woman make me sell it, hopefully she doesn't read this, but if she forced me to choose between her and the car, it'd be the car for making me choose.

Yes, it counts, broham. Mine is not running either and won't be for many more months.
I have spent more than what the car is worth, too, little by little. Hell, since January, I have spent half what I bought the car for with the 3S-GTE swap and I still need more things, so by the time I finish it with paint and everything ($4,000 on paint but it's a show-quality paint job) so it would be stupid to sell it and lose all that money. It's a mental thing. The car is worth it to me. The Celica doesn't bother me in my garage. It'll never be a hassle to own. It's dead reliable even when it was turbocharged. Whatever broke was a stupid piston or something inexpensive. I just put gas in the car and change the oil. It's paid for. Selling it just because I'm getting older ot it's inpractical is stupid. IMHO, the only people that sell cars because they're impractical are married guys who have no balls and do whatever the fat wifey tells them to do.
If you call the Celica impractical, you turned your manhood in when you got married. It's a little car with great gas mileage and awesome looks for its age. A great toy to have. People like you are who make the Celica lose its value.
Get another car and keep the Celica. Do what you want. Damn, this was a long-winded post.

Do I get a special commemorative ring, or a kitchen appliance if I join this cult? Maybe a Toyota symbol branded on my ass?
Sorry, I dig my car, but I'm pushing the Dark Side of FORTY. And the closer I get, the further away the seat seems from my ass. The more it hurts to spend half a day bent down under the hood. So, 6GC for life? Unless I die in the very near future, I'm gonna have to give that one a no. But Toyota for life? Quite possibly.

Brand new 6gc owner! (sort of 2011)The world is moving around a sun, the sun moves around a local arm of the galaxy, the local arm of the galaxy moves around a gigantic black hole.
I've had my 6GC Celica SSi for nearly 4 years - she is stunning and I love driving her. No she aint a GT4, do I care? No! She's the best car I have ever driven and I've been driving for 17yrs. She needs a little work to pass her MOT this time but she'll get what she needs. Before Christmas I thought seriously about selling her but I just couldn't bring myself to take the pictures for uploading to ebay etc. I should sell her as I have a couple of new grandchildren - I should get something more practical. I have spent a couple of months looking for another car but I can't bring myself to buy a one because the truth is ... I love my Celica too much to part with her. I have now resigned myself to the fact the grass is not greener on the other side and there are simply no other cars around that look as good or drive as well as my Celie (without spending silly money that it). The grandchildren will just have to squeeze up!!

This was the 3rd car and currently the last car I have bought. This coming May I have officially owned it for 3 years. The verty had everything I was looking for: white or black, manual, convertible, Toyota the only problem was the high mileage (not really a problem now, GO 200,000 miles club!). At first I had my regrets of the purchase because of the many hidden issues that I failed to noticed when I bought my car (no warranty, as-is sale). But now after spending almost as much money on repairs and mods as I originally bought the car for, I am very happy that I did. Its really something special now!
I car honestly say that even although I know if I didn't buy my Celica + mods I could have bought something more new (in-fad). But sometimes when I walk out to my car and see it sitting there and to realize that I own such a neat little car, I become very content inside.
Just a little side note: my inside right leg is tattoo'ed with the Toyota symbol and Celica in writing underneath (real damn commitment, right there!) 6GC for life!

I'm in, The first time i ever seen a 6GC I fell in love. I spent 5 years trying to buy the celica I have. She is my baby. I have other cars, but my celica is my baby. After trying to buy her for 5 years, and going through a nasty divorce, walking out of the divorce with nothing but the clothes on my back, an agreement to have my kids, and the title to my baby. She is not going anywhere. There is just something about her that she will be with me forever. Unless of course she gets wrecked beyond repair. But in that case I will just get another one.
so yes I am in 6GC FOR LIFE.
