You sell 3sgte, i dont sell beams.

Everytime a beams post comes in, and I support people, to go ahead you come in to sell your engines.

Yes, I know there is a for sale section, in fact we are IN IT, so yes I am very aware. I do not care what engine anyone puts in there car, I am glad that you are happy with your choice of engine. That is the name of the game, to spend your money on what you want.

I dont ever put YOU down. I would never do that, I dont even know you. When the topic comes up of "which engine should I get..a beams or a 3sgte" you shouldnt take a personal offense when I say IMO dont bother with the beams. It is not an attack on YOU because you own a beams, why would you think that?

I have only broght your name up in this thread because I saw that you had said you werent going to post anymore about beams vs 3sgte's...and I didnt want that. At that point I knew I had offended you, and I had no means of doing so, which I said you shouldnt stop posting. You took it the wrong way as I was "calling you out on something." This was not the case.

Yes I sell engines, and most them are sold via PM's...not the FS section. I only bring it to his attention that I sell GEN3 3sgte's because he had a WTB...seemed like the write place to post it. If it seems as tho I am constantly calling you out about the beams (which i am not, and would never do) you reply to as many beams post or beams/3sgte post as I do. So a lot of the time we are in the same post talking about two different engines, with two very different opinions. Again, dont take my feelings towards the beams as an attack towards you, it is not. Just the same as if you had negative things to say about the GEN3 3sgte, or LSD E153, or turbo kit I run, etc....I would not take it as a personal attack towards me. A wise man once told me...."opinions are like asshole's, everyone has one and they all stink." LOLOLOL, so true.

Anyone reccommend and place to order a good condition 5s from ? And Jim if you havnt parted your kit in a few months and still have i plan to buy it or maybe i can PM you and try to source the parts i need.

Also i want to thank EVERYONE for there input in this thread. It helped alot more than what you may think so thank you for your comments and advice but the turbo'd 5s sounds basically perfect to me.

Awesome man, I glad you got what you needed out of this. This is the whole point. As for the 5s, call around your local junkyards. You want one from a 98+. It is just a better motor.

If you were concerned about boost before, probably not that great of an idea to do a 5sfte. Its a lot more high maintenance than a factory motor, either one you go with. Just my $0.02 .

I didn't really go through a lot of the arguments or be biased to one motor or the other but just tried to answer some questions and clear up some info. The Beams swap is really not aggravation, actually its kind of an easier swap than the 3S. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who has been very involved in both swaps. There is actually less wiring, it comes with an LSD tranny and your 5S axles fit perfectly. You just need to make sure your motor set is complete (i.e. includes ecu, afm, air box, etc) as with any swap. And its really not that expensive of a swap either.

As for the 3S, there is a lot more expansion room to make a lot more hp. The wiring is a little more involved, its a lot easier if you have the relay boxes and everything that most motor sets don't come with. You can use your GT tranny, non-lsd, but you do get a lot more use out putting in an e153 but then you need to worry about the axle situation.

In terms of emissions and state inspections, they are both illegal and neither meet any US specs.

Ha well luckily for me in my state there really isn't any emmissions from what I've read on the Internet, honestly the only thing I'm concerned about is matenince ( so for mispelling bc of iPhone) anyways I'm concerned with that and the expense of the swap I have about 3K right now so basically the 3s is out of the question. I can do another 5s but have like what 100hp maybe, or I could do the Beams which I think looks awsome and sounds mean as hell, ad come with a LSD tranny, and I can use my axles which are brand new, only problem I would have is wiring bc I don't want to cut a wrong wire or hook it up wrong and no one who has done swaps lives anywhere close to me lol.

believe me, the wiring part is easy.

I just want to know exactly how much it would cost to swap it in myself. Including new belts and such where as taking it to a shop charging like 600 or more to do it. i think i could do it in a weeks time. If its in my price range im down to be the next BEAMs owner i like it because its different and looks sick.

just my opion if ima do a swap and had the money, idid go for the 3sgte, there a few on ebay, but get a front gt4 clips so you wont have to run round looking for parts. my friend got a front gt4 clips and its get, you get the front bumber, hood, fender, and all the stuff youll need to get. he got his for 3000g only.

I actually looked at that clip and called about it and no one answered the calls on PMs. Honestly i think either a 5s is good for a DD with a turbo down the road or that Redtop beams..... It may only have 200 horse's but man oh man i think it looks so sick and sounds awsome. And it honestly puts me in my exact power range the Redtop and the turbo'd 5s.
