So, it was decided that a new thread should be made for the next attempt for the Midwest meet later this summer.

Date:

July 31

Location:

Starved Rock
Utica, IL

We are first going to have a discussion about the best date for the event, then I will start the list of attendee's. Since bitter(I"m assuming) and I will be there regardless of date, weather, etc. You can PM us if there are any questions not handled in the thread.

Update: The meet will take place at Starved Rock on July 31, 2010. I'm going to try to be there around 12:00pm

So should we shoot for July 31? This is the last Saturday in July and should give everyone some time to make the appropriate requests so that they will be able to show up.

If I don't have to work I'll be there, we may be starting some saturdays which would pay time and a half...and I need money.

Bah. Time and a half is nothing. What is that, six pence an hour? It will hardly put food on the table. Brats and hamburgers and Celicas... That's where the real money is at.

Once again i would love to attend, but i have weekend passes to the Blackhawks convention in Chicago that weekend....if something happens where we could do a Sunday meet either the week before or after, i would have a better chance of making it with the solara.

i might be tired with jet lag but i'll be back around the 28th or 29th. I'll see how my body and brain holds up for the 31st and if i don't have any interviews on that day.

chris, i'm looking online for the the rear splitters but having no luck near my area. I'll keep looking thou.

Hope to see all you guys make it. I'm up for a meet, no matter what size, if it's just me and Chris or if it's all of us. I may be up for skydiving, pending cost and funds. I think the website said $200 per person, but I could be wrong. Either way, I've requested off work under the pretense of a "family get-together." So hopefully I'll get the day off, but I won't know until the Friday or Saturday before. And if I do make it, based on the last meet, what would I need to bring? Besides food.

Shig: Thanks for the pic. Looks great on the desktop! I hope to see you at the next meet, but can totally understand if you're too lagged to make it. I really appreciate you looking for those splitters for me, just let me know smile.gif

I think that we need to figure out how many are going to make it before we think about what to bring.

You can practically count on me being there. I requested off AND talked to the manager this time, so that should have an impact. I asked off before everyone else did as well, so that helps a lot. I'll know for sure the Friday or Saturday before the meet. But if I am going, I will be bringing the IS and stopping at a car wash before I get there. A few things have changed since the last Midwest Meet thread. I put an intake on the car and got it tuned up properly, so now I'm a little more satisfied with it. It's still not mind-blowing though. I'll be bringing some foodstuffs and a camera and my manly good looks. Don't really know what else is required, but I'm just ready for the 31st to get here.

Sounds good Daniel. I will be there as well, with some food, drinks and the gf..... Although, we will probably only be in Abby... Unless she feels like bringing the trac....

Only bringing Abby is cool. I might have the new motor in my Celica, which means it will be starting up and drivable, but I definitely won't have it registered or insured, so I'll just bring the IS. Only 33 more days!

You guys should totally make this on August 20th and then I'll see if I can re-route my flight. I should have a wallet full of CHF from working, so I'll have skydiving loot.
