Hi guys,

It's time for the First of the Year meet again. First being the first major meet of the year. So no smart comments about it being in may. Below are links to recaps of the previous year's meet. Browse through it if you want to know what this meet is going to be like. Not your average parking lot meet. We're coming with more activities for car enthusiast and non-car enthusiast alike. A switch from last year, FotY is being held down south this time, being as it is still winter-like conditions up here in NorCal.

*Confirmed* The DATE is being set for the weekend of May 15 (meet on the Sunday, pre-meet on Saturday).

The LOCATION is set for Chino Hills, it seems to be the best free place to host this amount of cars within the LA area and still have room to do the events and what not. The exact location will be the The Grand Avenue Park, just put in Grand av park into google and it will send you right to it. We will be providing maps on how to get to it from the major surrounding freeways later on.

So save the date! Get your cars ready! Stop making me have to shout! Show up, have fun, take pics, eat some food, meet some new/old members, make fun of Derrick, go home with good memories. Everyone wins!

*Update 3/14/11* The deadline for submitting pants/short size is April 1st. You need to send me the size you want by then or you will NOT be getting the freebie. The location of the meet is being set, so stay posted. It will be in the Los Angeles area, with a pre-meeting place where everyone will meet at before we all cruise the the actual place. Exact addresses and maps will be posted later.

*Update 4/5/11 The location has been set for Chino Hills. Also t-shirts of a different color than last year will be provided instead of shorts/pants. Also if you dont know Toyota Fest will be held the day before our meet(on the 14th) and many from 6gc.net will be going down, if youd like to join the Toyota fest caravan PM suprakid and he will tell you where and when to meet.(I will not be attending as I am to old) <- "too old", moron...college, eh?

I havent made it to a single state-side meet. FotY 2011 already there, lol. COUNT ME IN, happy to helpwith any ideas or anything.

Joe this is a California meet, but if youd like to attend wed be MORE than glad to host you, i personally would LOVE to see your car and im sure others would as well Me and nam(CAMARICER) are trying to get some locations and dates together atm. The first post ill be updated soon, stay tuned!

Nicce, i would suggest you look over the MOTY thread and ull see basically how it goes, who went, ect. FOTY will be pretty similar to that type of setup.

Woooo first on the list! I just wanted to make sure to bring enough bottled water this time. I'm not sure what the weather conditions are going to be like for this year's Foty 6gc meet, but I am still dehydrated from last year's Moty meet haha. We ran out of water fast, and were only left with warm to hot sodas. I hope we are able to make this year as successful as the last. Let's all start getting our Celicas ready now, because I don't want to hear none of that crap about how your car isn't done yet by the time the meet rolls around haha jk. If there is anybody who has attended a previous Foty or Moty Celica meet and has any feedback as to what could potentially make this year even better, please speak up. We would love to hear your comments and suggestions because all of us working together is what makes a successful 6gc meet!

Nice..starting up the list already..i can bring more water plus sodas! anyone have a preference as to what sodas they want? and derrick..hopefully i'll get the shifter cables within a week or two max..so we can start working on my car

Ok guys, now all we need is someone to bring some wood and we can start on building that boat and test it's buoyancy. We've got the hammer and enough water to do so already. We will get two 10 minute breaks in which we will be able to eat chips and stare at JDM goodness. This meet is just falling into place

Right now, I'm going to go ahead and say that signs are pointing towards SoCal. Here are my reasonings.

1. SoCal will be warmer this time of year.
2. It seems like it would be a bit more convenient for lil-joe101 to drive to SoCal, than it would be for him to drive all the way up to NorCal.
3. From what I understand, most of the out of state members are staying in SoCal during this meet.

I think in the end it's going to come down to how many SoCal members vs NorCal members sign up for this meet. We usually tend to have 2-3 times the number of SoCal members, which is why the SoCal meets have always been larger by default. If we have Foty in SoCal, then Moty will be NorCal, or vise versa.

And no one from so cal will drive up ...Derrick- me and nam have agreed to crash your house after foty, as that drive last year was BS, regardless even if your apartment smells like poo like nam says

I'll bring the major stuff like charcoal, cooking utensils, canopy, etc. Basically what everyone else will forget to bring.

I'm super busy with work, so haven't looked into the details of the meet...but yeah, SoCal seems good. Saturday most likely. Spring date. I'll need to know how many people will be attending before committing to shirts and attendance give-aways.

So let's here it from people about there spring break schedules.

My spring break is april 18-23, and then im out on may 21st. But i dont have any friday class so really any weekend is good for me. I think the later the better, but then we run the risk of it being hot again.
