too overrated, the 18rg was a gift from heaven, right time and right place. Unfortunately not cheap. engine alone was 1500, does not include the flywheel and exhaust i need thats another 1000. and i dont even know if it works, which sucks.
And a full factory resto will include the 20r, but i want it JDM spec, as always

Worst case scenario, 18 rg fails, will do the 2rz, just enough horsepower to move the shell. more than 175 hp, will have to add more components, and fuel lines, and brakes, and upgrade suspension, and the list goes on crazy and dont want to go there...
want it to move, and see the faces of 18y/o honda kids when they see dual carburated engine, and ask where is the fuel injector.....

>To restore a car and be period correct means either 2tg or. 18rg. A supra engine does not belong there. I'm a purist when it comes to the engine in this car in particular.
Not bashing the supra engine. Just want do do a good resto and not a hack job. The car does not deserve it....
