No, they're just knock-off wheels. I was in the process of rebuilding the motor, so I didn't have much money for better-quality wheels. Eventually, I'll end up with a set of RPF1s or Varrstoen ES wheels. Eventually. But for now, these are plenty wide and not nearly as sunken-in as my old ones were.

Looks in good form. What's the clutch you went for?

I was wanting an Exedy OEM, but no one had one in stock and they were all back-ordered, so I went for a SACHS OEM clutch, instead. I felt like my old clutch still felt totally fine, but after driving on a new clutch and resurfaced flywheel, I can definitely tell the difference.

On another note, 500 miles to go! I put on 200 miles just today. Country roads are fantastic for breaking engines in, I've realized. There's no one around to be bothered by your erratic driving speeds.

Last post almost three years ago... wow. Well some progress it happening soon. GT brakes! Front calipers and rear discs. Bought my hardware from a member here and it's time to get dirty. Special guests to the GT brakes will be new wheel bearings, SS braided brake lines, Brembo discs, probably Redstuff pads, Polish poly bushings (F&R), and new tires (225 or 235/45... haven't settled on the tire)!

I'm excited to start doing work other than routine maintenance again.

Ha !

My arms don't seem too rusty, but we'll see...
I have impact tools and can get a hold of a heat gun...
My Celica also never saw too much salt, even before I owned it. So that's a plus.

The parts keep rolling in!

Waiting on SS brake lines, and I need to buy caliper rebuild kits, inner/outer seals for the bearings, and the PU bushings.

After almost of year of my senior year of college sucking my life and free time away, I finally did it! GT brakes all around! I'm terrible at remembering to take pictures during the process, mostly because my hands are filthy and I didn't have a photo buddy with clean hands.

I'll take some pictures after I get new tires mounted today! I'm stoked. Even before totally bedding in the rotors/pads, I can certainly feel the difference in braking power.

Before this, it's just been routine maintenance. Transmission flush, coolant flush (that took entirely too long), a few oil changes. Blah blah. The only 'fun' things were painting my GT-Four rear bar and wiper arms flat black. The wiper arms are such a little thing, but it seriously is nice to not be seeing rust there every time I drive laugh.gif

Thanks! It was such a long time coming... Next up is coilovers and poly bushings. I'm hoping to get that done after I graduate in May.

Here she is in profile showing off her new rotors.

I took a trip up the Sandia Mountains this weekend to have some windy fun with the new tires as well.

All in all, she's a very happy girl.

Very Nice. What size rims and tires are those? 15 inch or 16 inch? Overall nice.

I guess so? I've never touched the tint since I bought the car almost 7 years ago. It does shine a little red/purplish in the right light haha

How do you like the 235's? I couldn't stand them on the gt4, although the superstrut over exaggerates every grain of sand it seems.

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.Celica: The name is derived from the Spanish word for "heavenly" or "celestial".Back-2-Back July COTM 15&16

I'm in love so far. Every bump seems a little smoother. My ride quality is much nicer. They help my wheel package fill the wheel wells better and I just love the extra meat (I'm coming from 215/40).
These specific ones (Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric) handle really well - I already took her on a windy trip.
The wheels are ET35 and I'm not running spacers - all I had to do was bend back the bolt tabs on the front fender a bit and no more scraping.

I wonder why SS suspension would make that much of a difference...
