>wow....$125? Who organizes that event? SCCA?

125 seems like alot, but i guess if it is a small crowd and you can fit in alot of runs, you could get your moneys worth. Ive paid on average around $50 for an event where there is a set 3-4 runs.

It is a lot, but usually it's on the smaller side so you can easily get 10+ runs, easily, within the 5 hour time frame.
10+ runs that is more than worth that price! especially if its a 1:50 course. The ones ive been in have rarely been over 60 seconds

Whelp, found out my dad will be buying me a new wheel for my birthday since I cracked one hahaha.
And my friend might be buying me a bunch of oober cool parts for the celi for my birthday hehehehehehe biggrin.gif
Sold my 3 spoke steering wheel this past week, came home for the weekend and swapped out the steering wheels. The OEM more actually feels thicker than the JDM one. I'll probably get a different steering wheel in the future anyway haha
I have finally made a decision with the way I want to go with this car. No more going off road as in rally style driving, she's going to be a street car that will be built for handling. I really want to rally, but AutoCross is less dangerous in certain aspects and a lot more safe since you have grip and there are no trees around lol

I was debating what to do for a while now, but I have a plan set in stone for what I want to get done by next summer.

-Redo the exhaust: Leaving the header and flex, adding two resonators, deleting the muffler, and doing a similar setup to tigawood's car.
-I have GT4 wheels with street tires so those will be good for the track. I want to get stock GT wheels with summer tires and Subaru wheels for the winter tires. Also, sell my set of 17" wheels because those are too big.
-Then I'm doing all the maintenance work such as front to back hard brake lines, fuel lines, SS brake lines, misc engine gaskets and seal, hoses, fuel filter, refurbishing the gas tank and other parts while in there. Front end links, e-brake cables, new pads and rotors all around.
-Then just other handling stuff along the way like a 3pt front strut bar and etc.

What I do want to do, which will be the biggest challenge, is rebuilt the transmission or at least fix my 3rd gear syncho since it's starting to go kindasad.gif

That's what I have in mind for right now, and almost in that order.
Maybe pick up a graytop? It would give you a power gain and still having low end too and they are cheap lol

st205 powered ss3 coupe
I'm waiting until the engine goes to replace it. She's just over 241,000k now and I really want to hit quarter of a million on the engine. I might save up for engine mods / swaps for the summer of 2014, but definitely not this summer. I might just go with a beams engine, possible cam and valve springs, but it would be just a grand for those alone kindasad.gif I've done my research on the beams parts.
rallying too damaging huh?

It was only the one wheel, but I can't do that kind of stuff while I'm in college cause this is my only car, and I'd rather not mess her up.
Got this in the mail today. Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator, 2.25" in/out.
Looks like I'll be getting some steelies for my winter wheels because my friend is only selling them for $150 and the tires are still good on them too. I'll probably end up painting them some obnoxious color because I can haha
That's my birthday present from my parents now, instead of one wheel for my other set (can't find them anywhere). I'm officially 20 today!
Happy birthday.

GENERAL ALTIMAX ARCTICS
General altimax arctics. 225/60/16. $190 for all 4 with only 4,000 miles on them. Going on the GT4 wheels for the winter. They'll be squeezed in the front wheel wells.
I'm jealous. I've heard winter tires make a night/day difference, and those look like they'll be no different
here you got

I'm hoping so, I've never had true snow tires on my car before, just all season tires.
I can't wait to see how they feel though!

Not yet, unfortunately.

Yeah I hate reasons.
I'm trying to Photoshop them onto my car right now.
So when I bought the snow tires for my car, I knew they were going to fit in the wheel well just fine.....but I forgot to factor in the turn radius of the wheel. Stupid me.
Well I'm not selling the tires because I'm already in enough of a headache as it is since I bought 17 inch wheels to put my old tires on, but then found out the tire that was on the cracked wheel had a small hole in the sidewall; go figure. So hopefully I'll be trading the 17 inch wheels this week for a set of stock 16 inch WRX wheels, which my snow tires will go on.
So in all, I'm going to mod my fenders so that the tires won't rub when I turn. Should be a fun little project biggrin.gif

Well, the tires are on the car. I was glad when I found out that they barely rub on the stock mud flap or splash guards. Only problem is, they are too tall and the bottom hat of the struts sit on the edge of the tires. The back tires aren't as bad as the front because I have 10mm back there, but only 5mm in the front. Hopefully, I'll be getting 20mm spacer that are like the v2 ichiba where the spacer bolts on and the wheel bolts onto the spacer.

Just my luck.

Oh yeah, and I learned never to take street tires off your wheels unless they are completely worn out cause the seam will get f*cked up since the tires are so hard. Just an absolute great day today.
Got my 20mm spacers in the mail today.....put them on.....and the tires still rubbed on the bottom hats of the struts. For now I semi ghetto rigged it. Being that the 20mm spacers were the bolt on type, I put the spacers, that I already had, on first, then put the 20mm on and bolted them down. Then I put the wheels on and made sure everything was snug.

Everything works fine now, the front wheels just rub on the splash guards a little bit, and the harness bar is back in so that no one sits in the back. And the front passenger side rubs when I hit small bumps. Though my struts are fine when I do the bounce test, I really do think that they are going.

TIME FOR COILOVERS!

Picked up a pair of fenders from the junkyard the other day. At first I thought I might not have to use them, but after driving my car more and more, the tires are making holes in the splash guards when I turn. So to fix that, I'm cutting that section out and moving it back a bit so that there won't be any rubbing there. I also noticed that when I go over little bumps, my front wheels rub on the inside of the fender and part of the fender liner. I decided to take those two fenders, which will forever be my winter set now, and make custom fender flares in the front. It was only $55 for both of them, so why not?

So far I've started on the crappiest fender and this is what I have so far. (everything is still in the beginning stages)
I'll keep updating as I go along.
Finished one of the fenders but not the other. Gave up on that whole thing.

Anyway, I'll be buying the hobbits rear coilovers from czwalga soon.
Other than that, I might end up fixing the brake lines by patching in a hard line cause it's still slowly leaking, and I might get cheap rotors since the current ones are starting to warp more and more.
Nothing is really going to be happening to the car for a while since I'm joining the Marines and going to boot camp this summer.
Coilovers should be in next week.
Also, my driver side front caliper started to get hung up, anyone know what would cause this?
I didn't know if it was going bad or not so I swapped to the mr2 calipers I had.
If it does the same thing then it's probably the sliders, right?
