Took a picture the other night somewhere in the industrial part of New Bedford.
Tried to use some editing techniques and tools that I've never really touched before. I don't think it came out too bad, just hate the yellowness of the windows and the one light.

On another note, Cam (ted95) and I will be doing my timing belt, water pump, oil pump seal, and all that good stuff on the 3rd or 4th of January, in his garage. Can't wait for that!
lookin good biggrin.gif

well i've come to the end of the line for a while.
i might be getting coilovers in the spring as well as do custom headlights with my extra set I have laying around, but other than that, I'm probably going to save up over the next year and a half for a '93 mr2 with the 3sgte in it. They are nice cars, not too expensive, rwd, pretty fast, and then my Celica with be my project car.
good idea mike! the mr2s with the 3sgte really are the way to go espically seeing they are rwd and are compact, those things can friggen flyyy

engine is just about hitting the ****ter.
had an oil leak, replaced the parts for it and it ran fine for two days, then just started pouring out oil when I went to western, ma. It was only a 150 mile trip and I went through 6 quarts of oil. I was about 30 minutes from my buddy's house and I had to add some oil since it was getting low. At that point I was pissed off, and just added oil, not bothering to check the dipstick. Adding about 2 quarts too much and was blowing smoke out the tailpipe. White smoke though, not blue. Anyway, it's been about a month since that happened and I noticed my car can't rev above 5k without making this horrific screeching noise. I didn't hold it up to listen to it long enough, but I know it never did that before. Just going to drive that engine into the ground and then take the car off the road. Not bothering with the other engine I have, I'd rather save up for a full clip and swap it.
Thats rough man, sorry to hear.

Thanks, but I don't mind it. Just gets me in the position to get another car and do bigger and better things with the celica wink.gif

I tend to haha Also did a amber delete in the JDM tails, looks a lot better on the car now.

Almost forgot to mention that I need a new wheel bearing, seal kit, and hub because my new bearing went within about 7 months. Definitely not right. As I say, it is what it is, for now, and I'm just going to live with the problems. She'll be parked on campus so I won't be doing much driving until the semester ends in May. I go back to college Sunday, once I start working again, I'll be saving, saving, savinggg.
Officially taking her off the road this spring/summer and putting her in a makeshift garage of some sort in my backyard until I buy a clip with the rear suspension and all the goodies. In the meantime I'm going to get a 240sx to have as a DD / learn how to driftcar. Something fun, small, and RWD.

I've looked around on some forums and you can drift stock 240's in 2nd gear. I'm not looking to go fast or through a course, but I just want to start to learn the basics of drifting and form a little bit of a technique. I realize if you go hardcore with it then yes, it will be expensive. I'm probably just going to get a set of junkyard tires for the stock rims to drift on and buy a set of aftermarket rims for DD.
Well yeah through 2nd, especially in the rain. But to get the most out of that even you will still want some coilovers and at least a welded diff.

no more goodies for the car. buying a d5000 soon, so i need the money to drop into that. then i'll be saving for a 240sx so i can take the celi off the road kindasad.gif I'll miss her, but she'll be back in a few years.

Here are a few pics from today though. Started getting into sepia photography. I've always liked older style pictures and they actually came out pretty good. Mind you these are 3 out the 100 and something I took lol

Small update:

Wheel bearing is shot and I'm getting a new one to pass inspection as well as the hub because it is stripped.
Got an oil change today and found out where my brakes have been leaking from. It's the hard line that goes to the drivers side rear, but luckily dustin has a good one on his car!
So I have set plans for this summer because of a recent chain of events.

I got the wheel bearing replaced, with the hub and seal. The brake leak got worse at dustin's house so we had to cut it, crimp it, and cap it. Last weekend my braided clutch line came in so I was able to patch the brake line.

The summer plans are as follows:
Replace both rear brake lines and all the fuel lines going to the rear of the car. The brake lines will be ran inside the car so they can't rust out again. Might sound crazy, but either way I'd be bending my own lines. They will be ran on each side of the car, obviously protected so they can't get crunched.
The gas tank is getting dropped and I will be replacing almost everything on it, as well as cleaning it up and heavily undercoating the whole thing. New filler pipe (with upper and lower supports), cushions, tank straps, and etc. Everything except for the pump and the sending unit.
The engine will be pulled and I'm going to figure out where it's leaking oil from and stop it once and for all. Replace the all the coolant lines that need to be detached when pulling the engine. replacing the oil pan gasket, and thread locking a few bolts that are a little iffy.
While the engine and tank are out, I'm going heavily undercoat the car. Replace the sway bar bushings, might replace the stock sway bars with ST sway bars.

I know I've said some stupid crap on my thread in the past, but I've started to realize what is most important right now, as well as what is within my budget while I'm in college. There's no way I'm doing a GT4 swap anytime soon, especially not with this Celi. She's my baby and I could never cut her up to do a full GT4 swap. I'm highly considering a beams swap because it's definitely more power, but nothing that I can't handle. that probably won't be for another summer or two cause I need to save up while also paying whatever amount I need to for college each semester.
Sounds like you have a good an solid plan for her

Mike, you're only young once. I say you stick to your original plans. Noes the time to start a project like this. It won't happen overnight but the best things never do. That's what delayed gratification is all about thumbsup.gif

Well I plan on sticking to my original plans, but by no means will it be happening right after I get out of college nor will the swap happen on my baby, I'll just by a good shell for it.
Started reading your thread a couple of hours ago, seems like you've been through a lot with your celica, and been through a couple of other celicas as well!! Anyway, i know what you mean when you said you'll never sell your car after everything you've been through with her. I feel the same way with mine. It's my first project car so i would stop messing with my dd. Mine is rough but in the end, its gonna be a big pay off man, just like yours, continue with your baby man and enjoy her till the very end.

Mike, keep on keeping on. I'm six celica's in since my first one I had in high school. I said I'd never get rid of them, then something changed and I had to for one reason or another.. well I just ended up getting another one.. and another one. Long story short is I am finally building the celica that I had wanted in the beginning. Everyone takes a different path as they go along with their cars, only you will figure out what the right decisions are. In the end, it comes down to enjoying working on a car and being able to fix it, while learning a ton in the process.

Whatever direction you decide to go in with the Celi, we'll be tagging along and offering help where we can. biggrin.gif

Thanks man! I'll get there eventually with the Celi that I want to build, but it is definitely going to be after college when I have a steady income and I also have the time. I have to decide within the next year if I want to rebuild the 5s in my shed or just go with a beams swap. This summer I am definitely replacing the gas lines and will be checking out the gas tank as well. If nothing else is leaking on it, I'm just going to heavily undercoat it all for now.
As for my engine, I know it's on it's way out because 1) I can't go above 5k rpm's without it making a screeching noise and 2) when I get on it, in any gear, around 4k-5k rpm it makes that screeching noise. Sometimes it does it at lower rpm's as well. It's definitely metal on metal cause a belt couldn't make the noise I hear. I'm leaning toward the beams because I don't have another 94-95 head in good condition, just a 96, and I don't feel like dealing with all that emissions crap and swapping heads, intakes, tb's and etc.
Took her off roading today. The trails were pretty harsh, but there were some nice sections to fly down. Got up to about 45-50mph. Being that it was my first, boy can I say it was a f*cking blast! Screw having a car that goes fast, rallying kind of took over in my heart haha
Well, probably going to buy that Celica with a blown motor that Limited GT4 just posted in the FS section. Such a clean body. If I get her, definitely going to fix her up and get her running. Hopefully the engine isn't too bad, but I have another bottom end if that's the case...and a top end too haha

Talked to the owner via email and it's actually a woman owner. She said it's very clean, barely anything for rust and no rot, and I'll be getting more pictures of it tomorrow. Engine blew cause it had an oil leak and she let the level get too low. I'm definitely guessing that the bottom end went on it, probably a rod or something. Hopefully I can talk her down to $400 cash for it, $500 is my max.

I know right?
But if I decide to part with it, everything is coming off, and then I'm saving the shell for that project I'm hoping to start by the time college is done haha
Just a picture I took and edited the other day. She's a little dirty.

Not a huge update, but I relocated my front turn signals.
Originally I had blacked the stock housings out (really dark) so they were only visible at night.
My h3 LED bulbs came in the mail today and I was going to put them in my aftermarket fog lights, but they were too long and wouldn't fit. I test fitted them in the OEM foglights, and they fit perfect. Only problem is, they were too dark. Being that I took the orange out of both of my front and rear turn signals, I took a try at removing that piece that goes around the H3 bulb in the fog lights. It was a success. They still were bright enough to be foglights so I wised up and made them into turn signals because it's stupid not to have them. I'll have pictures up in a little bit.
