If I move my setup too far forward I'm afraid I'll bang it up if I make any contact with the front(Inevitable in rally). Then again I could make a 2" riser for my seat bracket, but then again I might have issues with my brain bucket smacking my cage/roof. What kind of lightbar is on your car? It's a shame RALLY USA or NASA GRASSROOTS wont let you have a roof mount light option

I bought it from someone in the UK. Even with shipping its cheaper than buying them in the USA from RRE. I used DZUS fastners on the hood, with a custom pin setup on the bumper. We can remove/install the lightpod in less than 30 seconds.
The lights I have hella 4000 compact lenses, 2 driving, 2 fog, with 55w HID conversions.

Haha, well you can blame my girlfriend. It was her idea. It grew on me, i think itll look even better once I get the numbers and event stickers on because they usually have a white backdrop.

Haha I'll be very happy if that doesnt happen. Ill probably be driving like a grandma in the next race.
One thing as far as welding... spend the extra money, use gas. Flux-core vs gas isn't even close in comparison. Welding it depends... some is easy some is difficult, gravity plays a big part in making things difficult. If you're welding upide down etc. Also thicker metal is much easier to weld than thin stuff.
Body panels are very difficult to weld.

^This was suppose to quote from the other day, but damn html is being not-cool!
Haha, Completely true. I weld 15-30 ton aluminum ingots to 1-1/5-5 inch sleeves, and boy, between running a bead with a push, its as smooth as butter. Same pull on a 1/8 inch steel and really gotta get your "C's". haha

Well... horrible luck two rallys in a row. Blew out the rear diff bearings about 4 miles in... it moves, but the rear differential is destroyed, i can feel the pinion and ring gear binding.

The white Toyota lettering on the rear fender really pops against the blue. The car looks great!
What will you do for the rear diff? Rebuild it, replace it with a donor from another AWD vehicle or ST205?

Well here's the vid of the car breaking. Can't tell too much from the video, but it was really bad. In reverse i'd have to pop the clutch just to get it to move because the rear end is binding.
I was taking it easy after the roll at wv... so i was really backing off the 5's and 6's when i should have been flat through them.

If anyone knows anyone that has an AWD subframe laying around that was trying to accomplish the AWD swap but couldn't let me know.
I think I just need the diff, but I'd like everything to have as spares. RPMgarage has the entire subframe for $145, but shipping is 1k; which is insane.

Steve - Check fensport and other UK people... they seem to be the most realistic with pricing... I got an entire rear 1/2 for ~ $1500 I am sure I paid extra for shipping the body

>If you want/need a rear gt4 subframe.. Ihave one...great work looking at this makes me miss my car... Great work!
I would have gone with the gt4 subframe and suspension but. Cost of those isnt cheap most i see are around a grand and strengh wise i would think the supra one would be stronger , also the actual parts available for the supra stuff. Makes it worth it to i have 200 in the donor car so price is right to me since i have to fabricate mounts anyways and the supra subframe is same width as rails on celica. ,,,atleast on the rear mounts
There arent aftermarket manufacturers of pinion bearings and ring gears?
I am disappoint...
Rav 4 has the same rear diff I do beleave
So you might be able the rob the parts from one of them

Kurt, good call on rav 4....celica and rav stuff are nearly identical. subframes in the front almost the same, sway bars are interchangeable... Rearend might be close enough to work...would need beefed up though
Only reason I mentioned it is I remember Batman swapping a st205 LSD rear diff into there beams swapped rav4 awhile back

The old Lexus RX's should have that rear end as well....

Came across this the other day, cheaper than ^^
http://www.rpmgarage.com/new/detail/?tid=16932
except international shipping is over 1000
Thanks! Car is actually already back on the road. I end up ordering the parts from the UK.
I end up getting everything (minus the subframe, axles, arms, etc) plus the driveshaft for about $750 shipped. Not fantastic, but I didn't want to sit and wait.
Those parts from canada are more expensive but look like they are in fantastic shape.

Well decided last week I will be doing Sno*Drift again in January.
Gatar11, just sent me these pics from service last year, after I ditched the car and cut two tires on a stump. Hopefully this year will be better, but our front ends are so weak I imagine i'll be needed at least new front fenders.

I did the exact same damage to my passengerside earlier this year. Ive still got the clean driverside I'll let go for next to nothing if you need them.
