The motor I got was already swapped into a celica so the harness was already extended to go through the stock 5S spot, so I'll just run it through the same spot. biggrin.gif

Oh right... I forgot about that. Nice. biggrin.gif

I cheated haha.. the only thing I am concerned about is that the wiring was done for the motor to be in an odb2 car and my car is odb1.. so we shall see if there were any differences when I put her in the car!
since I'm moving the battery to the trunk I decided to put a battery cut off switch under the hood. Found a nice clean spot to mount it biggrin.gif

Looks good, Jess.

Shouldnt the cutoff be accessible from the outside of the vehicle? (in case of accident)

yes it should, you will not pass a track inspection like that.

If I were racing, yea I'd need an external one. This one is so that I can disconnect the battery to work on the electrical system without having to unbolt anything.

Makes sense to me. biggrin.gif

another puzzle piece came in today, now I can drop the motor in the car!

Hey!!! Can you guess who this is biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Thats my parents garage thats in the first half the build thread!!! we've been breaking things in there since way back when we had motor scooters at like age 14. thats when our "problem" first started. lol. ever since we've been getting better and doing bigger and better things... and breaking bigger and better things... haha but now we can fix em. me and him, no schooling, no teachers, self taught, and the two most anal people when it comes to our cars. I love helping/ working with him because he is the only one I know who hates gaudy, unnatural, cheap, half assed mods as much as me.

Anyway. Whats up man. after reading this for the last couple hours. Seeing all these pics in order is like a replay of my life. lol. I very specifically remember being there for a good chunk of this, or here and there at least but for all the times ive been there only 1 lousy pic of my car made it rolleyes.gif. and its half covered by yours!!!! lol.

Everything looks so great. what a great idea to put the washer fluid there. what genius gave you that idea biggrin.gif biggrin.gif. engine bay looks phenomenal!! cant wait to come see this thing in person. I dont know to much about the celica platform but can you turn the turbo compressor outlet down so you dont have that loop up and over the radiator hose before going back down or does the tranny/radiator/ac condenser/DP get in the way?? then you could run a straight pipe from the inlet to where the battery used to be for the intake pipe? and where did all these random dogs come from. lol.
I also thought you wrapped your exhaust not painted it?

Now that I read yours, its your turn to read mine. lol.
http://my.is/forums/f219/another-is300tt-way-lives-436205/

Everything looks great. and Im sure itll run the same. Best of luck. see you in sept., and again in the fall when you get your longish break. ill be in touch
AP, good to see you had a chance to read through it all biggrin.gif Your Lexus is looking awesome these days, can't wait to see it this fall. People do clock the turbo on this motor a lot since it does exactly what you said, provides a better route for piping and such. I'm going to do that down the road, for now my "stage 1" was to just get the motor in the car how he had it in his and running. I'm still deciding on if I want to keep the front mount or go to the original top mount W2A intercooler.

Here are some more pics from last night tongue.gif

I know you like your things mostly oemish but if you wanna significantly cool the air intake temp putting it ontop of the main source of heat isnt the most efficient way. And I know how bad you want that water to air cooler but a bigger better placed front mount will achieve better AIT's if your after more power. And you can do decent sized fmic stealthy. Just look at mine.
And you can put these in to further chill the air.
http://www.siliconeintakes.com/product_inf...304b1c675b8c107
Plus they just look cooler. Lol not to mention you know some water/meth will eventually find its way into the washer fluid tank.
But def turn that turbo down and go straight to stage 3210. You should be around 8730whp then. Lolololol laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Is your intercooler inlets/outlets 2.5" or 3" cuz if it's 3 you should totally just do the top mount and send me your front mount. Lol. Oh which reminds me. I have a Jdm 5angle mirror that Ill give you if you want it. It's more than likely to ricey for you. I got it for free and won't put it on my car. Lol.

It's in.
Now hit the power igor and let's bring the monster to life!!

Ok now I'm off to continue trying to platinum gran turismo 5. Lol. I need a life
Andrew, I've never seen those finned IC pipes, I wonder how much they actually do, its really not that much surface area added to dissipate the heat. I'd be interested to see one of those installed on someone who has two temp sensors, one pre IC and one after. I'd clock the turbo, but I need this car together by monday lol. That'll be a project for another weekend. Besides I want to change my IC since I can't get the stock fogs in there with this IC.. for now at least.

progress.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Loving those gauges.
Car is running great, I absolutely love the Stage 5 clutchmasters clutch I put in here. Its not as aggressive as you might think.. It's easy to shift and I have been able to hold myself on a hill without problems.. Just need a little more finesse since the friction zone is smaller. I have a lightweight flywheel with it and I get no cluctch chatter, really an awesome set-up!

For anyone interested in the specs

This is what I'm going to run in my set up too. Thanks for the advice Jess!

Get some vids up man - I wanna see this thing in action.

Clutch broken in smile.gif ... I tried my best to baby it, hopefully I wasn't too hard on it early on lol
I demand some epic videos now!

vid's coming soon!

So I bought the DCW gauge cluster, but the design blocks all of your warning lights from view.. really frustrating to spend that much and have such a design flaw. I'm not to be able to see my gas light when it comes on... so that needed to change. So I came up with a solution and will post pics soon.
Kmh indication - proper! Welcome to the units that the rest of the planet uses. That cluster cover is so, so nice as well.

Looking very good man. Very nice. 100trd man that's fast! Lol. I wanna see some vids too. At least text me one.

I got the wifey to give me the go ahead to come visit on your break so I'm in 100%. I even bought a dailey to drive down there in. Even tho my real car is much more reliable...

Oh and do you get weekends off. Because I might be driving down to ocean city md for that vw h2o show it's sept 29&30th but I'm undecided. It's kinda in the middle of us if you can make it ill def go and get a hotel room. And lots of beer biggrin.gif

You are the first person to mention this... Kinda strange - cuz i had these covers on all of my celicas and never had any problems (and no one mention anything like this before who bought a cover...) with the warning lights - cuz if somthing lights up - it clearly visible that the corner where the glasses for the warning lights are all lights up pretty good... its not a design flaw - there is no other 'easy' solution to get around this... Its just not that EASY visible with the cover.. Anyway - post what solution you come up - it will be intresting to see it smile.gif

Doggy,

I'm not bashing the cluster, its a really high quality piece and I do like it very much. The issue isn't the glass being tinted, its the angle at which the lights are on and where I sit. I'll post pics and vids in a bit of what it looks like and how I altered it. I just couldn't see the gas warning light unless I leaned towards the center of the car.

Ok so here is a few pictures showing what I am talking about..

In ALL of the following photo's the Oil Pressure warning light is ON.. I slowly move backwards (past where the sitting position is in relation to the gauges) and you will see the issue I am referring to..

Notice how tough it is to see this light when its on? I'd have to lean to the left to even notice it illuminated during the day. (at night there is a red glow you will see and then you can lean left to see what light is on)

The trim around the rpm gauge is blocking the light... if you lean you will see it is on..

Here is a video to show you how far back you need to be for it to be easily visible/ how much you need to lean around to notice the light..

since there is the same problem on the other side (mainly the gas warning light) I came up with a way to alter the gauges to make it work.

I also switched from the GT4 warnings to the us so I have the cruise control light again..

to this..

ok so here was my solution... take the warning card itself and push it up to the back of the glass on the DCW cluster..

the new card in place

then build new walls to block the light from the other warning lights. I only need the check engine, cruise and gas light on this side..

And then testing to see how the gas light works and if it is more visible.. (the background light isn't too bright since its not in the car. It's just as bright as the stock set-up when its in the car) You will notice how you can actually see the gas light now and it was in the same location as the oil light but on this side. With it pushed forward, it is now visible at any angle in the car so I won't have to lean to either side to see if its on or not. biggrin.gif
