LOL...don't tell nobody.
Matt, Brian and Bobby came over this weekend to give me a hand tearing everything apart for the rebuild. We got a lot done!

Steering installed!

Upper rad support removed!

The two front ends staring at each other!

New GT4 front end torn down to the bare bones!

Doing it the right way.
Awesome to see memebers helping members.
BTW, you never told me what the tp was for...

my st205 swapandour Beams swap
Haha the TP is for stuffing the oil ports for the turbo, and then I have rags stuffed in the throttle body, and of course a towel over everything to try to keep metal shards from getting in the engine!

Not sure about up where you live, but for me it'd be also to stop any woodland creatures and bugs from taking over and building a home. redface.gif

Good to see some progress, hopefully in the next weekend or two it'll be as good as new outside of mismatched paint.

Yea the paint won't match for a while. Not until atleast next spring when the weather is right for painting.
Great to see the car coming back to life thumbsup.gif

Thanks Luke. I'm just hoping all the panels line up how their supposed to.
I'm hoping to get pretty far on the progress this Sunday. I got a better tool for removing the spot welds. Lining everything up and welding it in place is probably going to be the hardest
part as far as the body work goes. I'm looking forward to installing the cams, but I'm not looking forward the re-clearancing the buckets. I'm nervous about the availability and difficulty of finding/buying shims for the head if I'm out of spec. If anyone has a hook up, or is a kind hearted soul over in the U.K. PLEASE LET ME KNOW because lots of extra downtime could be added if I have to wait a super long time for parts.

The turbo kit isn't here yet, but I'm looking forward to opening that box once it arrives. Hopefully by then the majority of the body work will be done, and I'll be able to concentrate on fine tuning everything, and getting my baby running again...
Silly question, but would 2nd gen 3S-GTE lifters happen to be the same? If so they're readily available.

Ben, you should to get in touch with Luke (Enderswift.) I sent him all the buckets and shims from a spare BEAMS, which are the same as the 3rd gen GTE. I believe he only used a couple of them so he may still have some laying around.

still have them. Pm me your address and I'll send them out
Small non-picture worthy update. Today I continued to take apart pieces of the new frame so that it would slide on to the old. Had to buy a new tool that would make it easier, but it's still slow going. I just want my car back at this point, but I know it's going to be a long process. I just hope this log of my car's history has been beneficial to some of you folks out there.

Just a quick shout out to Luke: I'm glad that people like you chose this forum. I have a true friend more than 500 miles from me that I hope to meet and shake his hand one day!

Im currently in the market to be doing this swap as well, where did you the front clip from? Did it come with the tranny, ecu, ect....and did it come RHD? Any information will be great, and if you ran into any problems what were they? You can PM if need be, very excited to get this project started once i find what i need.

I got my clip from jdm engine zone. They have **** customer service and never call you back, but they got the clip out to me either way. Clip was nearly 3000 shipped, it included everything but body panels, brakes, suspension, and gauge cluster. They are all going to be RHD. I ran in to tons of problems. All of those have been revealed in this thread. Good luck with whatever you decide!
Just sitting here at work thinking...probably a stupid question as well, but has anyone tried a 3sge beams intake manifold on a 3sgte?
I know Sunny mixed and matched a BEAMS and a 3S-GTE for his build. The BEAMS throttle body comes to mind from his build, and I'm pretty sure the BEAMS exhaust cam is a bit more aggressive as well. I can't remember if he fitted the intake manifold or not though.

With winter coming up it will be difficult to set a particular time, but my goal is to have it up and running before x-mas.
Wow well done thus far! Always nice to see that someone is saving a Celica from the junkyard! thumbsup.gif bowdown.gif

I couldn't let her go. And trust me, she is well worth the trouble.
Glad to see you keeping the car, everything seems to be going well so far!
Keep the good work! thumbsup.gif

Thanks man!

Should be getting the car over to my Dad's shop tonight so that I can begin the enormous amount of welding tomorrow.
